I stayed at Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah, and unfortunately the experience was far below expectations considering the hotel’s name and reputation. 1. Check-in & Front Desk From the moment of check-in, the front desk experience was unpleasant. On Wednesday morning, the receptionist was unwelcoming, unfriendly, and rude (an older male staff member). I had to escalate the issue to the duty manager, who was polite and professional — the complete opposite of the front desk staff. 2. Rooms & Facilities The room furniture is very old, and the bathrooms are also outdated. The hotel is clearly in need of renovation and refurbishment. 3. Restaurants & Nile View Seating Although the hotel’s location is excellent and the Nile-side seating areas are beautiful, the service at the restaurant, café, and Nile-view lounges was poor, disorganized, and unprofessional. The outlets clearly lack proper management, staff training, and service coordination. 4. Housekeeping On a positive note, the housekeeping team was professional, cooperative, and efficient. 5. Check-out & Luggage Handling (Serious Issue) During check-out on February 7th at around 11:00 AM, I noticed by coincidence that an employee was loading my luggage onto a white bus. If I had not seen this by chance, my luggage would have left with the bus. Despite my bags having luggage tags with specific numbers, the employee did not verify them or ask for confirmation. When I questioned him about placing my luggage in another vehicle without checking the tag numbers, there was no proper explanation. This is completely unacceptable behavior and can be verified through the hotel’s security cameras. Conclusion The hotel urgently needs stronger management, better staff training, and service standards that truly reflect the Sofitel brand. In its current state, the experience does not match the level expected from an international luxury hotel.

Good three night stay. Room on floor 10, as others have said a bit dated and bathroom door doesn’t really shut. Well equipped, lots of water left each day, great housekeeping service, Are in each night across Kebabgy and the Aqua bar, good food, as was the generous breakfast. Bar was a delight and staff lovely. We upgraded to Club Millesme which wasn’t worth it for us, slightly soulless club room and not where you’d choose to have breakfast. Did get late checkout with no fuss, however. Gym good, and lovely pool area. Fast and reliable wifi, lots of atms, and generally a great atmosphere: The reason for four stars is the hit and miss nature of service. We spent quite a lot of time waiting to be served in various bars and restaurants with tens of staff walking past us and actively seeking to not make eye contact. Three breakfasts and at everyone had to ask for tea/coffee after ten mins of so. So many staff dashing about, managers in suits speaking to each other, but the only thing you order from a person was difficult to get hold of. Same in Kebabgy, dish came without one aspect of it and ended up in a discussion about whether we had in fact already eaten it, checkout slow with at least five mins establishing whether we’d had more from the minibar than I’d declared. Takes the edge off and it’s not for the want of staff, just lots of people dashing about without a great deal of impact for customers.

I would like to especially thank the club lounge butler service, specifically three peple ( doaa, reda, mahmoud) they were exceptional and incredible with the service and made my stay spectacular! Honestly they are above the rating.
