I made the mistake of leaving my personal items in my room safe, but did not realize it until I had returned to the US. Ms. Mai and Mr. Medhat supported me in every way, during the process of successfully returning my items. The hotel is very clean, modern, super close to the airport, and the food is wonderful. Highly recommended!!!

I almost gave one of my very rare 1/5 ratings but in the end I give 2/5 because the bathroom was nice and renovated. For the rest this hotel performs poorly in most regards and I will not return. First off I arrived at 1am and expected a quiet front desk but there was a queue of about 12 people without a separate check-in line for Accor Diamond guests. Once it was my turn the lone receptionist apologized for the wait (they were clearly understaffed) and told me I would be upgraded to a room with pool view. Most hotels in Cairo upgrade to suites so even in their attempt for a nice gesture it still felt below what competitors do. In fairness for a longer stay the terrace outside the room by the pool could be nice. But if using this as an airport hotel during short transit, it's less likely to be of much use for most travellers. Housekeeping does not seem to know how to make a hotel bed. The sheet covering the mattress was only going to the head of the bed rather than entirely covering the mattress from underneath. That meant it was very easy for the sheet to move and the mattress cover to be exposed. To make matters worse the sheet was stained. I tried to sleep at an angle on the bed to avoid the yucky spots but I could not sleep because of the constant slamming of doors in the hallway and the non-existent soundproofing. Novotel is cheaper than Le Meridien which is connected to the airport terminal. But I did not find the price difference to be worth saving a few dollars to stay at Novotel. At LM I have club lounge access (there is none in Novotel), I have suite upgrades like clockwork (unlike Novotel), LM is clean (unlike Novotel), and I can simply walk from the airport to LM rather than wait for a shuttle bus. If people on a budget want to save money and avoid LM, I would pick Radisson Heliopolis which beats Novotel in almost every possible way except that their shuttle bus is not free but Uber/Careem is so cheap in Cairo that I would still pick Radisson (or LM) any time over Novotel. I cannot imagine what Novotel looked like before renovations. It's lipstick on a pig. I would simply avoid this property altogether.

You can see that this is a lay over hotel for Egypt Air. The food quality is disgusting, the food is all luke warm if you are lucky. Some members of staff are helpful but many of the ladies working behind reception are in the wrong job, they do not have the skills to talk with guests arriving or checking out to the point of where they are down right rude. Do yourself a favour if youe going to be in Cairo for some days find another hotel to stay in.
