Overall we had a great holiday, our suite's furniture was a bit dated and the hotel was being renovated which we were unaware off until we arrived. Staff were very nice and helpful and the food was to a good standard. We would stay again but would have like yo have known about the renovations before we arrived

The Pullman Karon Beach Phuket was hit and miss in several ways. The lobby, Andaman Lounge and Sails restaurant are all nice areas. The Andaman Lounge is especially enjoyable in the evenings with a nice music trio playing easy listening songs, they take requests and are great musicians. The fireshow is worth attending when it is on and it was nice to sit with sand under our feet and see the sunset. The pool areas need a lot of work. The images of the Ocean Beach Club on the Accor website are actually of another pool area, probably because the ocean beach club pool is in need or urgent maintenance and upgrade. The decking around the pool is extremely hot to walk on, warped, lifting and down right dangerous, an accident waiting to happen. The chairs around the pool have no cushions so can be quite uncomfortable if you are laying out for a long period, there is also a terrible odour when in the pool and not of chlorine. There is no cushions on pool lounges anywhere but we found the Serenity pool the cleanest and most pleasant pool to swim in, although the slide was not working when we were there. We stayed in the executive sea view rooms and although the view was lovely and the housekeeping did an excellent job of cleaning the room, the room itself is very run down with dark old wood furniture, a very hard bed, outdated slippery tiles on the room floor and a very dangerous step down into the bathroom. I can only imagine how many incidents have happened after a few drinks stepping into bathroom at night forgetting that step. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful but the surroundings, rooms and pool areas would be pushing to get a 4 star level from me, this is definitely not a 5 star star stay. Buffet breakfast and food was very good and many different cuisines, cultures and flavours are catered for. The Asian and Indian cuisine is definitely better than the western offerings. It was a good location to stay in, across the road from a nice beach, very short walk to shops, restaurants, massages and local markets and easy to catch a tuktuk or taxi to other areas from the back of the resort. Apart from the ocean beach club pool area there is nothing terrible about the resort and there is nothing outstanding either, I can't say I would stay here again but if you get deal with pricing and inclusions it may well be a good midrange option.

Poorly trained staff and bad experience

Hi Team Despite communicating beforehand about the rooms and all the details. We were offered rooms on separate floors and had to adjust to Twin beds instead of Kind Beds deluxe rooms after a lot of to and fro being on the same floor. When we finally thought that the worst was over and we were in for a pleasant experience, the hotel staff came up to our room and said very rudely that we now have a new rule that, to order cutlery in the room (that is plates and spoons) we have to pay 200 Thai bhat. Don't know if that was racism or pure lack of training from the hotel staff. All over we expected Pullman to be a five-star property but now we believe it has a long way to go.

Dear RAJESH A., Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. Your feedback is incredibly valuable as we continuously strive to enhance our guest experiences at Pullman Karon Beach Resort. Firstly, I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the initial room allocation and the subsequent adjustment to twin beds instead of the deluxe king rooms you had requested. Your comfort and satisfaction are of utmost importance to us, and I regret that we did not meet your expectations in this regard. Regarding the new policy regarding cutlery in the room, I would like to provide some clarity. It is indeed a standard procedure at many resorts, including ours, to have a charge for tray service, which includes plates and utensils. This information is typically communicated through our guest services platform, Handigo, where guests can view and request services along with associated charges. However, I understand your concern about the manner in which this policy was communicated to you. It is never our intention to cause discomfort or confusion, and I apologize if the delivery of this information was perceived as rude or abrupt. Please rest assured that your feedback has been taken seriously, and we will review our communication practices to ensure that they align with our commitment to providing courteous and professional service at all times. Your experience does not reflect the high standards we aim to uphold at Pullman Karon Beach Resort, and for that, I am truly sorry. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we value the opportunity to address any concerns you may have directly. Should you wish to discuss this matter further or provide additional feedback, please feel free to contact me directly. Once again, thank you for bringing this to my attention. We sincerely hope to welcome you back in the future and restore your confidence in our resort. Warm regards, Ajay Sampige General Manager

Great potential property, but not at Pullman standards yet

Checking in was way too long (30 minutes) without separating queue for All members, information about restaurants inaccurate (Sailors claimed to be closed but they happily served us), overcharging for stay as by mistake they overbooked suite upgrade (so have to wait 2 weeks for refund)
