We have just enjoyed a fabulous ten days in Karon, the hotel is nice, clean and the staff are so friendly and can not do enough for you. The pool is nice and there are lots of places to sit and relax , we especially liked the roof top garden area for sunbathing. Breakfast was good and staff work hard to keep things running smoothly. We stayed half board and this gave us the option of having breakfast and lunch or breakfast and evening meal each day. The menu was the same for lunch and evening and not very big, we like to eat out a lot and just have half board as a 'back up' so this was ok. However if you planned to stay in the hotel each day to eat your evening meal I think you would very quickly get tired of the menu and find yourself repeating meals. We did also find it very strange that a drink was not included with your half board lunch or evening meal and you have to pay extra for this?? I have never experienced that before in a hotel, surely your meal should come with a drink? Even if it's just a soft drink! There were a few occasions when a meal we ordered was forgotten about and one of us would have our meal and the other didn't arrive until one of us had eaten, which was strange when the restaurant was never busy? We ate downstairs at the Chard grill restaurant on our last night as a treat (it's quite expensive) again our steaks arrived and 10 minutes later we were still waiting for the side dishes, by the time we had asked for these and they eventually arrived our steaks were cold..granted staff could not apologize enough and they did give us a discount off the bill but this is what we found on a few occasions at the hotel. There is a huge problem with poolside bed hogging that the hotel really needs to get on top of..towels would be laid out on beds at 8am and then people wouldn't actually be by the pool for sometimes hours later, this is really not acceptable and needs to be addressed. My only other 'gripe' was that we had travelled from the UK on a 12 hour flight, very tired, feeling messy and our room was not ready for over 2 hours! We have never experienced this in a hotel on holiday, we were offered to use the restaurant or the pool while we waited but this really isn't acceptable,.people should not have to wait after a long haul flight..we were having to open our suitcases to find clothes to change in to and to freshen up in the hotel lobby, use a poolside toilet to freshen up and change and then just sit and wait when exhausted. The hotel is very close to the beach, looks lovely and the best thing is the staff but pool bed situation needs sorting, the wait for rooms to be ready needs to be looked at, drinks should be included with your meal when half board (even just one soft drink) and a little more organisation in the restaurants.

Overall, the hotel is not bad; everything went well at reception, both upon arrival and departure. The restaurant is also good, the only thing is that you have to ask boiled eggs, it is not on the tables with all meals. you have to ask for them every time. Not everyone knows this, and many of guests kept asking us, "Where do you get hard-boiled eggs?" In all hotels, they're just there for you to grab. It's very strange for Thailand that there's no red fish for breakfast, no Benedict with Salmon. What I really didn't like was the room cleaning. It was just awful. One maid cleaned more or less, but the others either didn't bring towels, we were left without towels, or didn't bring tea and coffee, and no one washed the coffee table at all. The bed linen was all stained. We met a family from Canada, and they had a big fight about it right there. The hotel isn't cheap, 5*. You need to maintain the standard, hold meetings, and teach them how to clean rooms.

KBKBKBKBKBKB Couples - TripAdvisor review

Purportedly 5*, sorry but 3* at best. Dated, average facilities, disorganised staff, difficult to get bookings to dinners, spa, treatments etc, concierge not very helpful with outside activities etc. Completely overpriced for what you get. Try elsewhere.
