Having spent the past week in this hotel, we really enjoyed it, and now it's time to go home. We found this recommendation on TripAdvisor and it was a smart choice. We did the right thing and used TripAdvisor as a guide. There was a big swimming pool, it was very luxurious, and we had very comfortable rooms. Everything about this hotel was fantastic. The gym was open 24 hours a day, and our favourite part of the stay was breakfast and the pool lido bar. The staff were extremely courteous and humble, and they were always ready to help us when we arrived. Mr Raju always provided us with a pleasant table at breakfast, even though it was very busy sometimes. The food at breakfast and the cocktails at the Pool Bar were absolutely fantastic. We spent most of the day at the pool bar, which is where we really enjoyed happy hours at the pool bar. The music in the pool bar was very entertaining, and we definitely look forward to returning to this hotel for our next visit. It was a wonderful stay at this hotel and I highly recommend it.

The hotel has all the details that allow to be a perfect choice for families and couples. The restaurant is international, Indian and Thai, the breakfast is aligned with the hotel standard, the pool is huge and pool bar is available, kids zone and gym 24/24 is present at Grande Avista.

We stayed for one week at the Avista Grande Phuket Karon MGallery Hotel. The overall experience was average, but not exactly what we expected from our stay in a jacuzzi suite at a 5 star hotel. The check in was very quick and efficient but lacked the typical thai friendliness. We arrived in the afternoon and our room, a jacuzzi suite, was ready but the sun loungers that were shown in online pictures were missing. The jacuzzi balcony was just completely empty, only the jacuzzi but no possibility to relax in the sun as advertised. As this was one main reason for us to book the suite, we decided to ask at the reception to get some sun loungers for the balcony. The staff was again not very friendly but after insisting and some time spend we got the sun loungers with the comment that they decided to not set the room up like this anymore. It would be good to also mention this online and to maybe equip the balcony with any other furniture instead. The about 15 square meters additional balcony cannot be used by the guests without any possibility to sit. We also experienced some bigger issues with cleanliness of the hotel room. The bed linen was very dirty when we arrived. We found two big brown/red stains and needed to get it completely exchanged in the first night. We had similar problems with the towels. Also to our impression the room was never mopped and the floor was rather dirty. The biggest issue of the room was that it was very noisy. Our suite (3rd floor) was next to the cleaning room therefore the noise started very early in the morning. We are normally not sensitive to some noise but it was extremely loud and we could hear every word and noise from the hallway. Other problems are that there was only one working power outlet in the sleeping area and that water was flooding through the wall to the bed when showering. The room in total was rather a slightly bigger corner room equipped with an jacuzzi, but did not match the expectations one would have of a suite. However we liked the big jacuzzi, the Nespresso machine and the big shower. Also the bed was very comfy once having clean linen. Most importantly the location of the hotel is very good. It is very close to the beach and close to the Kata and Karon shopping areas. There is everything close by and it is a very nice area. Overall I have to say that for me it was very disappointing that the staff was not very friendly at the Avista which I never experienced before in Thailand. We stayed already in a lot of Accor hotels in Thailand and were always impressed of the very friendly people. In the Avista the staff showed not a quite positive attitude towards the guests and we did not receive any apology after our issues with the room. Lastly, as a Accor Gold member no benefit at all (possible upgrade, better room, drink voucher, welcome letter and so on) was provided - which fits quite into the overall impression. For a low-budget price in a normal room we would maybe consider coming back but definitely not with the expectation of a 5 star suite hotel.

Our focus in ensuring memorable stays and on enhancing the guests experience in the hotel remain high. If you are serious about what you eat in the morning - taste, healthiness, hygiene and even presentation -, I STRONGLY recommend this hotel. I don't know who is in charge of the main(sole) restaurant of Portosino, I was really impressed with the choice of breakfast buffet menu and the quality of food. It's bakery and coffee is not just best in town but best in 5 star holtels in this region.
