Good location and comfort, but air condition in the room is not working good enough for the hot of Bangkok

This hotel was a mixed bag for us. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and informed of an all day power outage on our second day - not an issue as we were able to plan ahead to be out all day. We were not however informed of a further power outage the following day that fell at the time we returned to the hotel to prepare for dinner. No lighting was available in the bathroom. This impacted the lifts and caused chaos the following morning. Only one lift was working and every lift was continually full as we tried to leave from the ninth floor with our luggage. It took almost half an hour to get downstairs. The hotel is not in the best location and whilst it is easy to access transport to the city, take a taxi at your peril as the traffic is mayhem! We resorted to the subway once we felt brave enough to, which was a short walk away. Sadly the corridor of our room also smelt strongly of cannabis. Whilst hardly the fault of the hotel, it was unpleasant to return to every day. The staff however were always friendly and welcoming each time we arrived and departed the hotel and I cannot fault their kind demeanour, save for the lady when we checked out who appeared completely non-plussed when we told her of the problems. Comfortable bed and spacious room was a plus but don’t expect a relaxing afternoon by the pool as there is significant construction work going on next door.
