Sofitel sukhumvit 13

Doreen-live Families - TripAdvisor review

Pros: Sofitel sukhumvit 13 is a conveniently located hotel with a beautiful front entrance with a flower display. I got a birthday cake on arrival in the room which was really nice, thank you🙂 The hotel is well maintained and clean enough. The rooms are well presented. The cleaning staff were generally good with cleaning. I left little notes for them for things that needed to be done which they did, thank you for that. Basically all the essential services are located at the doorsteps like money exchange dee money who give the best rates in the area, seven eleven, millions of restaurants/ eating places, mall - terminal 21, pharmacies, BTS trains, underground trams. The staff are exceptional always ready to assist with directions, getting a taxi, recommending places to visit while in Bangkok, making tour bookings and generally very friendly. Special mention to Natty, Pete, Boy, Tony, Tui, Tee, Tow, Tum, Kevin, Palm. Sorry if I have not written the names correctly. The reception staff that helped my cousin and I with the wifi thank you as well 🙂 The breakfast staff were also very friendly and welcoming. The ginger tea was excellent helped when I was feeling sick. I also was able to custom order eggs with no lactose which was a hit and miss. Cons: The bathroom especially the shower area needs to be cleaned so you don’t see any mould and the grout patchwork needs to be redone. For a 5 star hotel perfection should be maintained. On the first day I had to call room service for the body wash to be refilled. I have to request for toilet paper a few times during my stay. The hair on the floor in the toilet area seemed to stay there for the whole stay not sure if the toilet area gets vacuumed as well. There is limited gluten free and lactose free options in the buffet breakfast. I usually don’t have curry in the mornings but I didn’t have much options to choose from. The gluten free bread does not taste nice. The gluten free pancake was too dense. The gluten free muffin/cake is ok but I was not sure if it had butter in it. Eggs were made to order but not that great. The fruits were only other options I could have. I was disappointed that there was no ripe mangoes or mango sticky rice on the menu. There was lots of mangoes being sold on the streets so mangoes were in season. The taxi from the hotel weren’t given clear instructions on where we wanted to go and asked me for directions. I have to turned my mobile roaming on to access google maps so the driver could use google maps to take me to my destination. On one occasion I told the driver I didn’t have internet then he turned on his google maps and dropped us 2 streets away of where we wanted to go because there was traffic but still charged the same amount. Please make sure to write the address of the hotel and the destination you want to go to so you can show the driver otherwise you will dropped off at the wrong place. Overall: I would recommend Sofitel but next time I would split up my time between the other luxury hotels on the same street like Westin and Hyatt just for the experience.

We have 4 days meeting here at Salon1 on 7th floor and it was great hospitality, great food and beverage. Staffs are professional and taking good care of our group. Especially thanks for Khun Prim Parinya, Khun Theerawut, Nong Minty and Nong Sun for the great service.

Excellent Hotel in Sukhumvit Area

If you are looking for an Hotel in the Sukhumvit area, Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit is an excellent choice. Within walking distance to 2 metro lines; Nana/Asok (Green) and Sukhumvit (Blue) stations. There is a Terminal 21 mall about 2 lanes down. Accor status was recognised with an upgrade and welcome gifts. The hotel was renovated and it showed in both the public areas and room; clean, modern and bright. As it was a short stay we didn't use most of the facilities. From what we have seen, the service was excellent in both the reception and Club Millesime. For Club Millesime members you can have your breakfast there in the morning, tea and evening cocktail. Special mention goes to Ms. Mira at the lobby who made check in a breeze and Ms. Nicha who takes the time to greet and engage the guests without fail. Tony at the door who is ever smiling along with his helpful colleagues Boy and Trai.

Used to be Prestigious but now Poor in Service

Love the renovation, the room was nice and as usual we stayed on the club floor - however, the experience is now terrible. The service on the club floor has tremendously deteriorated, inattentive table service, poor choice of food during breakfast etc., did not live up to my expectation. Probably in it's bid to attract anyone and everyone, the club floor did not enforce the minimum dress code - we saw many guests in flip-flop (not the fashionable kind) and some even in pajamas! Instead of canape, rice, noodles and main dishes (green curry chicken etc.) were offered at evening happy hours - thus inviting families with screaming children to have a full meal in the lounge! The rest of us have to retreat to deep corner or the conference room to escape the roaring market place/hawker center kind of environment. We made the comments and service was briefly improved by Khun Macky but i wonder how long the hotel will last. Certainly will think twice to come back. Will not pay for club floor access next time. As a brand and the only Sofitel in Bangkok, i'm saddened to see it dropped very far from grace.

Very satisfied
