We made an online booking through Booking.com for a room which included breakfast for what we thought was November 29 2025. Upon arrival, we found we had made an error, booking Dec 27 2025. The gentleman serving us cancelled the booking and rebooked us for the correct date. We were advised it would be an extra $100 as the booking was now a 'last minute booking' with the hotel almost completely full. We accepted, as the mistake was ours. We went up to the room and then headed straight back out for lunch. On the way past Reception we checked to confirm that our booking included breakfast, as per our original booking. The answer given by the Head Concierge was "No, but you can pay extra to add it to your booking". I explained that breakfast was included with our original booking however, we were just met with a blank stare and no offer to rectify the issue at all. 1. Why wasn't our original booking transferred including breakfast? 2. Why was this not explained to us at the time so we could consider alternative arrangements or even stay somewhere else? 3. Why does a $390/night room not include breakfast? I don't believe that $390 for one night in Penrith, with a view of the roof below and a street in the distance was good value. Not to mention the extra $90 we would have had to pay for breakfast.
