We loved the location and the friendly staff. Beware that the AC is not turned on before May 1 no matter how warm it is. The street side is very noisy at night with a window open to cool the room. The bath/shower is very slick, so we had to line it with a towel as no bath mat was provided. There were very limited gluten-free options for celiacs at breakfast and the staff is not well-trained. The Slake Cafe down the street is a good option for gluten-free breakfast.

The location was great. The hotel was clean. But overall, we didn’t quite feel worth the money that was spent. For starters, we weren’t told until the last checkout time that we could get parking vouchers for our car at the hotel. It could’ve saved us quite a bit of money. There were folks all the time at the reception. If not for one gentleman at the end, during our checkout, who asked us and provided us with a voucher, we’d have never come to know of an overnight parking waiver. It literally cost us so much money since we had to park at the adjacent hotel location. Secondly, the staff were quite cold and inhospitable. We had a lot of luggage, both check in and check out, and we were told how they were “understaffed” for any assistance, which we completely understand. But when a local French group arrived for their check-in , we saw the staff run out to help and assist with carrying their bags. And quite literally in front of them all, we were trying to move and carry 7 bags ourselves. We have traveled 30+ countries now all by ourselves so we are not new to carrying our bags. But the abject bias was impossible to ignore. I do not know if this was a result of racism too. Lastly, for all that money, all you get is a tiny small place with barely enough space to move around. We got the top floor largest and most expensive place with a terrace. Only for the terrace to be lined with artificial plastic lining on the ground and patio furniture that screamed pretentious. The room was tiny. Clean but tiny. Overall Splendid Hotel turned out to be a disappointing blip in what otherwise was a lovely Annecy holiday for us. Very racist staff!

Hotel is adorable and boutiquey. I previously stayed here and returned for one night, before an international flight. The hotel is right next to the métro, making it convenient to get to CGD. As a solo traveler, without a lot of luggage, I appreciated having the option of a smaller room, in exchange for a more affordable price. The room was clean, quiet and modern, with L'occitaine toiletries. Last but not least, the staff went above and beyond, leaving a birthday message in the elevator for me to see when I left in the morning. I was really touched. <3
