Dear Sir, We have discovered your review and regret to see that it is rather mixed. Please know that we take note of each of the points raised in order to improve our service in line with your expectations. The room originally offered on the 5th floor was in the category, 'Deluxe with a terrace" you have booked. It seems that the decoration and interior layout may have made you think otherwise. But at no point was a room from a different category or "alternative" offered to you. As a frequent international traveller you know that the photos on booking sites are not contractual. All our Deluxe rooms with a terrace (7 in total) have different sizes and configurations and they cannot all be photographed and displayed. We assign rooms according to a proven protocol, based on availability and our guests’ requests. Another room in the same category was available (on the 1st floor), so it was offered to you transparently and with the aim of fully satisfying you. We are truly delighted that this one was to your liking. Dear General Manager, My family and I stayed at Splendid Hotel, Annecy from 30th September to 2nd October (booking reference QMSHDWCS, booked via Accor website. I am an Accor ALL Silver member and a frequent international traveller, and I am writing regarding our room allocation at check-in. We had booked and paid for a **Deluxe Room – 1 double bed, terrace on the lake side**. At check-in, the front desk agent, Thierry, allocated us room, which was clearly smaller and did not correspond to the description or photographs of the room we had booked. No difference was mentioned to us and we were not asked whether we would accept an alternative room. We realised the discrepancy only after entering the room and returned to reception to point this out. Thierry then immediately offered us another room, which matched the description and photographs of our booked room exactly. This indicates that the room category we had reserved was available at the time of check-in, yet we were initially given a lower-category room without being informed. I am not suggesting what anyone's intentions may have been. My concern is the process: a guest should not have to inspect their room and challenge the front desk in order to receive the room category they have booked and paid for. A less experienced guest may simply have accepted the room without realising the difference. I would appreciate: - A written acknowledgement and explanation of how this allocation occurred; - A review of the front desk's room allocation and check-in process; and - An appropriate gesture of goodwill given that we were initially allocated a lower-category room than the one we had paid for. I chose your hotel because of its reputation and the setting in Annecy, and I would like to continue to have a positive view of the property. Could only adjust air con 3 degrees to 23.5 at the lowest due to “environmental reasons”. Please! Four star hotel with basically no air con. A bit money grubbing in my opinion.

my wife and I enjoyed 6 nights in suite 507, then had to move rooms for our 7th night as we extended our stay. Overall, the accommodations were comfortable, clean and well appointed. Kudos to Housekeeping for their daily service and attention. Staff was generally friendly and helpful. We put the scented oil sticks in 507 on the terrace as they are too fragrant and gave us headaches. Small daily changes to the breakfast buffet would be welcome for longer stay guests. Thank you for a helping make our stay in Annecy so enjoyable!

We stayed for 1 week and enjoyed every day. The rooms were spacious and well equipped, we had wonderful veiws of the mountains, and despite some reviews we had no issue with road noise.

Asked reception to organise a transfer to airport. Their preferred taxi service proceeded to take us to the wrong airport and charged €507 for 1 hr 20 minute trip. Disappointing that Le Splendid took so little care of their guests in organising and when we called upset by the experience, they hung up the phone.

We had a marvelous time at Le Splendid Hotel Lac D’Annesy. We hiked up to the view point on the first day and rode around the lake the 2nd day. We didn’t opt for the breakfast.

Awful reception area - not welcoming, very down market. Even worse room - old furniture, worn curling rug, absolutely terrible bathroom. Old worn floor tiles, leaking shower. Terrible view from the window. Dark, dingy, depressing.

We stayed at le splendid, Annecy for 3 nights. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Great bed and great shower. Breakfast was delicious with very good selection. Best thing about the hotel were the extremely helpful and efficient members of staff. Nice touches of slushy, cakes and free minibar were very much appreciated.

We had a lovely stay in Le Splendid. We really loved the location being out of the old town but so close to the lake and all the bars, restaurants and activities. We did not have breakfast or drinks in the bar, which was always empty, but the space was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful when engaged, and the hotel definitely gives a more premium experience such as providing a ninja creami in the foyer in the afternoon alongside sweet treats. It doesn't look or feel tired or dated, and we really loved its aesthetic. There were a few factors that left us questioning whether we were completely happy with the more premium price paid that were perhaps specific to our room (107). Firstly, a lakeside room will be lakeside but this does not mean a view of the lake. We were looking out onto the fire escape and trees. Secondly, the hotel is on a busy main road. This did mean we noticed a lot of emergency services vehicles passing with sirens on, although this never disturbed our sleep. Thirdly, our room was quirky, with 2 or 3 steps leading up to it and then back down within the room - this would not be great for those struggling with stairs. It also wasn't a blackout situation - we had to trap the curtain closed behind a stool as well as cover the bright green light of the power switch for the air-conditioning, both of which directed their light at the headboard of the the bed. Finally, the room did not smell on arrival, but had a pretty pervasive odour of sewerage throughout our stay once we were using the water and air-conditioning (the air-conditioning also couldn't be set lower than 22°c). It did seem to lessen by the end of our 3 days (or we acclimatised), and didn't cause us to ask to move rooms as we spent so mucn time out, but definitely did factor into how we felt about our experience for the price. These things are not complaints, merely factors that we took into consideration in reviewing the hotel. We did not feel overly disappointed or compelled to move rooms, but they did make us question the price we paid. Overall, we would definitely go back, but maybe ask for a different room on the lakeside and hope those experiences were just a drawbacks to the price we paid for our particular room as everything else was great.
