We always enjoy staying at the Bethune Gare Ibis. A relaxing stay with clean, comfortable rooms and copious items for breakfast. All the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Quick check in, friendly staff. Also late/ afternoon shift very helpfull (helped us with a restaurant reservation) However.. some feedback, bathroom needs a deep clean particular around the edges in the shower. Breakfast not fully stocked at 930.. no knives or pastry for example. We will be back to visit the surroundings of the city/ area Thanks for hosting us

Parking ambush

Having arrived at 2315hrs, we are less than happy to be told the Car Parking is 10€, which we were not expecting. This info is stated in the hotel description but is hidden deep and definitely not obvious when booking. The night-porter woman at reception had plainly experienced lots of other arriving customers unhappy with the unexpected car-park charge many times before and was short on patience and empathy. When we decided to consider our options she told us to pay now or go find somewhere else to park! There is a free Station Car Park adjacent but the gates are locked at 2330 and do not open again until 0900 so if you want an early getaway, no good. When we accessed our room which was clean enough but it smelled very strongly of cannabis. We were too tired and unwilling to deal again with the impatient night-porter to raise this so just put up with it. Standard Ibis which is nice enough, fairly modern and clean.
