We arrived to find that our connecting rooms, which had been confirmed per email, had been given to someone else. This was a problem since I was travelling alone with my 3 children, and had informed the hotel of this. The receptionist first told us that the best they could do was two rooms next to each other, but fortunately a senior employee came to help and gave us one larger room with 4 beds. So in the end, a good solution was found, but I still think this could have been prevented by better planning the first place.

Came late at like 01:30 with wife and small child. Had booked a room for 3. Room was right next to a very loud wedding reception within the same hotel. No other room for 3 was available, so to allow us to stay in quiet, the reception person gave us two rooms. So far so good. In the morning they insisted that we pay for those rooms separately. We didn't, as it was clearly the hotel's problem, but the argument we were having was very unpleasant and very aggressive from the side of the receptionist.

Rooms are very comfortable and have a lot of space. Air conditioning worked perfectly which was very appreciated during these hot weeks. Housekeeping team did an outstanding job. The shower is nice but there is a constant change in cold and hot water while you shower, this was not so pleasant. Breakfast was good but for me personally I missed some regular cheese and ham on the buffet. Front office team is very friendly and helps out where they can. No question is too much to ask. I will definitely recommend this hotel to family, friends and colleagues.

Good sized room and nice gardens

Arrived early evening, welcome was good. Staff were all very good & attentive. Used the restaurant but the food was not really good enough. However the HUGE problem was the complete lack of hot water in the room. Started in the evening and the morning the water was completely cold and impossible to have a shower!! Not what I expect - when booking I expect to be able to have a hot shower. Staff were fully aware of the situation but failed to offer any discount or apologies. The person at reception around 7h45 was in a panic but incapable of dealing with the situation. There should have been management present - the person present was certainly not management. Very disappointing... for my return journey decided to stay elsewhere.

I am the Accomodation manager and I was present all the day last 21st May 2021, but not soon enought to present you my apologize. The technical problem with the boiler was solved at 8 o'clock, too late for you because of you earliest check-out. This situation is quite complicated to predict as long as nothing can alarm us on this topic. Be sure that we will be aware to be not in the same situation in the future. I hope to see you for your next stay in the area and I will be pleased to offer you an upgrade in the Executive room. Not situated in a scenic location (industrial, adjacent slag heap) but the hotel was easy to find and externally looked good. The COVID protocols were in place and well followed. Very pleasant reception staff, hotel appeared to have good amenities ( although none used for obvious reasons). Our room was good but the bathroom was tired and in desperate need of refurbishment (mirror silvering coming off at the bottom, some grouting/siliconing mouldy). Top marks for the COVID limited menu and room service, prompt, very tasty and good value for money, same with breakfast. Overall probably a little expensive for what was offered but nevertheless a pleasant stay.

The waiter in the restaurant in the evening was superb, he too had an elderly Labrador. He has served us on many occasions over several years and nothing is too much trouble. Great you have a new coffee machine for breakfast, about time! Tell the other Novotel’s to join you in this machine. The waitress at were excellent at replenishing. Please get BBC world news/Sky news in English on tv in the room. It said there was BBC but it was not available again.

We arrived late in the evening but we were welcomed to have a cheap and nice dinner. Our kids were impressed by the breakfast buffet. Room was perfectly prepared and cleaned. All should be perfect if you would reinforced the road signs to find this hotel in the commercial area.

Software failure

On arrival my reservation could not be found. I produced the e-mail confirmation and was told that there had been a software problem on the day that I booked and the reservation had not been processed. However, a room was available. There was no apology for the mistake. I have stayed here before and some of the the bar and waiting staff recognized me and were friendly. The dinner was adequate but nothing exceptional. I ordered a bottle of red wine. This was served chilled at the sort of temperature I would expect for white wine or rose. It was a very hot day but red wine should be served at room temperature - in the South of France I have known a bottle of red wine to be brought out at room temperature but placed in an ice bucket so that it does not overheat. It was only towards the end of the meal that the full flavour of the wine came out.

Poor service in reception both on arrival and leaving. Booked 2 rooms but only received welcome drink for one room. We were told the restaurant was full and recommended to eat out when in the event there was space in the restaurant and we did eat in the restaurant. Confusion over the bills when leaving and only received the bill for one room. Had to ask to pay for the evening meal which was on the second room. We had very good service in the restaurant itself.

Good location and close to petrol station. Rooms were big and very clean and comfortable. The only negative was there was a problem with flies in the bar area which may have been due to the unseasonably warm temperatures.

Given two vouchers by the receptionist and told very carefully that the two vouchers were for 2 drinks per voucher.On visiting the bar I showed both vouchers & asked what drinks were free. I was told soft drinks and beer. I ordered two of each and on check out was charged 15 euros. On querying the very rude male receptionist sneered and said large beers aren’t free even for the directors of Novotel???be very aware of this scam! I only asked for the free drinks!Also the air conditioning does not work the room was too hot to sleep.
