Ok, the good bits.... The room was clean, the bed comfy, the shower worked OK, and the breakfast was good. But.... it was 25C on the day we arrived and forecast to get warmer the next day (it did). The hotel description says that the rooms are air-conditioned. But the reception staff said, sorry, the A/C was not switched on, they couldn't (or wouldn't) switch it on (not 'Accor group policy' until June (!) ) and sorry, they had no fans for angry guests. So my first night was spent sweating and trying to ignore the screaming, shouting and loud music coming from the inevitable gang of youths hanging around nearby. The next day, the excellent Chef de Reception Marjorie Albertier was on duty, and, yes, the A/C was switched on later that day. So perhaps you should change the hotel details: "yes, the rooms are air-conditioned, but only from 1st June". Really not impressed with the hotel management, with the exception of Ms Albertier. A dreadful way to show utter contempt for your guests
Dear Mr M., Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Hôtel Mercure Arras Centre Gare. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I can't explain why you were told by the receptionnist on duty that the Air Co was not to be on until June, as this never has been our politics. The comfort of our guest is our priority. Please reste assured that I have immediately taken the appropriate measures so that it never happens again in the future. I thank you again for sharing your concerns and apologize again.
