Good location but rooms were not up to the mark

The rooms were on the smaller side, especially the bathroom and was very dated. Fixtures were coming off the wall. The walls were very thin and noise was coming in from neighboring rooms and hallways. Location of the hotel was good and there are many restaurants nearby. Commute to and from the hotel was also easy.

The hotel is brilliantly located being in the heart of theatre land with its myriad of restaurants, along with a large Monoprix supermarket and a huge selection of transport options. It is also a relaxed hotel with a large lounge area where one can deal with emails or surf the net or watch a match or simply have a drink from the bar. For myself, my stay was without incident: everything worked well. The room was warm enough, was tidied by the hotel staff at times that didn't inconvenience me and all the staff that I had dealings with were very pleasant.

Well located with decent sized rooms

Second visit to this hotel in a Modern building chosen as it is very convenient for Gare de Montparnasse and because the rooms are a reasonable size and larger than many found in Paris Haussmann buildings. The standard of cleanliness is good but in both rooms I have had there were fine cracks in the sink but nothing too bad. The beds are MERCURE standard of comfort a feature that is generally consistent across the chain. The breakfast dining area is not particularly inviting and the breakfast buffet layout is a little incoherent with cereals tucked away in a corner difficult to see especially in a busy period with lots of people milling about and jams are near the hot section but the bread and pastries are a long way away in an open area by the bar. The reception staff were very welcoming apart from the gentleman who checked us in he was a little cold and also debited our card for the full amount immediately meaning we could not add drinks etc to our bill as I would prefer. We ended up choosing to go to outside bars instead of having a drink at the hotel. We shall return as it is so convenient for us. The area has lots of eating possibilities and 3 metro stations all in easy reach meaning all of Paris is reachable.
