This hotel has gone downhill. Terrible smell in room - was told it was the drains because of the heat and then treated with vinegar which was also overpowering smell. Shower attachment broken. Breakfast was very limited with no hot food whatsoever, not even an egg. Staff were not visible. Added to the disappointment was a side view of the castle (in fact the worse placed room) and all of this as a gold card member

The hotel is very well located for visiting Carcassonne, and the reception staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was excellent. However, there were several maintenance and organisational issues during our stay. The door of our room did not close properly, the terrace door didn’t close either, and the safe could not be opened. Although the hotel staff listened to our complaints several times, they were unable to resolve these issues as there was no maintenance service available. The interior could be cleaner, and doors and walls were poorly painted. The restaurant reservation system was also rather chaotic for dinner reservations, we ended having dinner elsewhere Overall, a hotel with a great location and pleasant staff, but the maintenance and organisation need improvement.

Great stay in a hotel perfectly placed to visit the old city and castle. Would not hesitate to stay again. Well equipped room with comfortable beds, good toiletries and modern bathroom. I paid extra for a room with balcony with castle view and am so pleased I did. Cool water dispensers on every floor to top up water bottles. Room had USB A and USB C sockets next to the beds as well as plenty of power points. Nice Nespresso coffee machine in the room. The only thing I missed was not having a fridge in the room, which most other 4 star hotels in France seemed to have. The restaurant had a very nice menu, with plenty of options, enough choice for a 3 night stay. I found the meals to be excellent in their cooking and presentation but not be well spiced/tasty - I had to add salt/pepper to every meal and noticed all other diners also requested salt/pepper too. Better than being overly salty I guess but left me a little disappointed. Fries were excellent! The view from the restaurant, which is on the 4th floor, is one I could never tire of. The 5th floor covered terrace was small but offered amazing views - with chairs, sofas and tables to take your drinks from the bar. The 3rd floor swimming pool was small but clean and welcome to cool off in the summer heat. The hotel has a basement car park which is secure and accessible from inside the hotel, though there is no lift, only stairs to access. The hotel is ideally placed by the side of river, with a perfect path running alongside it for morning walk/jog/cycle. It’s also within 10min walk of the city centre with lots of bars and restaurants to choose from, many offering the local cassoulet as well as crepes and pizza/burger etc. There was a handy little mini supermarket to buy fresh fruit and sandwiches/salads to go. I’d wanted to visit Carcassonne for a long time and glad I chose this hotel for my stay

Staff all very helpful and resolved any query or question efficiently. Whilst the rooms have all the facilities needed there is a lack of storage if you are staying for more than a few days.Rooms are clean and well maintained with tea and coffee provided. The rooftop bar is nice with excellent views.

The hotel is very run down. The bar wasn’t open on Sunday or Monday, the room was tiny with the smallest toilet I’ve ever seen. You could barely close the door and when seated your knees actually touch the door. If you are over 6ft don’t bother. We paid for an extra large balcony and panoramic views and were put in a room overlooking the carpark. We were moved after questioning the staff to a teeny room with a teeny tiny balcony with ok views.

The position of the hotel is what you are paying for with prime views from the rooms facing the cite. Hotel decor looks tired, however, with chipped paint, doors with no deadlock working (two rooms) and looking like someone had attacked them with a chisel. In one of our rooms, balcony for didn't lock either. Not so much of an issues on the third floor. Air conditioning was very strong, rooms were ice cold. Pool was welcome, however, not likely to be suitable for more than 3-4 people. Gym never seemed open. Breakfast was unusual. Cereals, bread, cheese and ham. Some fruit, but each day an over abundance of cakes, banana chocolate loaf and many others. A level walk from the station, allow 20-25 minutes. Not suitable for those with mobility issues or large cases. For a four star hotel, the bar, which also has fantastic views, was not open Sunday or Monday. No obvious reason why. They was a happy hour, 18:00-19:30, second drink half price.

Great location, lovely river walk just outside. Great pool and rooftop area for the morning sun, and the room was clean, modern and comfortable. Staff nice too! I would recommend and will look out for Tribe hotels in the future.

A great spot between the old Cite and Bastide. Loved the views. Food and staff were very good. Rooms without a refrigerator could have had UHT milk perhaps, and 3 coffee capsules is too few.

Was disappointed on arrival to be told my specific request for room with a bathtub emailed weeks before and acknowledged via email and confirmed I would have i was then told at checkin I wouldn't get a bathtub! Despite checking on online i was asked to fill in another check in form on arrival. The reception was able to arrange bathtub when i queried quickly but why therefore was i not allocated in readiness?? Breakfast was at best average certainly not up to expectation. Room was in my opinion tired and in need of a total "refresh" . Although I requested in line with silver status a late check out weeks before I was only given 30 minutes extra, which was interrupted 15 minutes in by cleaning staff. Did not consider value for money overall. Disappointing all round sadly
