The Ibis budget hotel staff here made our stay soooo pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. This makes a BIG difference to any stay. It is about a 25 minute steady walk into Carcassonne town (depending on your mobility-I could do it in about 20 mins -having very small stride). There is an Aldi + Lidl +McDonalds 5 minute walk should you need. Excellent value for money.

First, the shower was clogged. So the bathroom has been quickly flooded. Then, the AC was noisy. But the worst, one of the towel smells weird. A really peculiar smell that I well know. The towel smells cat's pee!! I have a pretty good nose, I'm sure that's it! What's the heck ? At the end, in the morning, the coffee machine had a bug and I lost several minutes to ask a decent coffee to the receptionist.

The hotel was exactly what we needed for our short stay in Carcassonne. We stayed for two nights with breakfast included, which was very good and practical. The family room was clean, and our 3-year-old loved the bunk bed. The private parking was closed at night, which made us feel secure. The staff were very friendly and spoke Spanish, which was great since I don’t speak much French.
