Biggest day of the year: fireworks over the castle, tourists from all over Europe flooding into Carcassonne. But the staff helped me plan and even helped edit something I had to write in French. They leaped to assistance regarding the air conditioner that flooded my room. I am afraid this phenomenon recurs frequently for them; that is the only reason I am not giving a 10. Ibis corporate should probably take preventive measures. The dripping did keep me up.

Good size room for a ibis budget. Rooms very clean, but the hallways and lift need a face lift Friendly staff. Breakfast is continental and good quality. Good car parking. 20min walk to the castle.
