My wife and I booked what the hotel calls a "JUNIOR SUITE" at considerable cost and explained to them my wife is disabled and needed a walk in shower. We arrived at 3:15 PM and was told the room was not ready. To cut to the chase, we met a couple from New Zealand who had asked to upgrade to a junior suite. They were given the suite we needed because they were paying more than we were at a last minute change. But the "suite" we were given had steps without a bannister to get from the bed to the bathroom which made the room impossible for my wife to use. We told them this was totally unacceptible and the New Zealand couple who we had bonded with took the room they should have gotten in the first place. But to punish us our room was not available until 6PM. We spoke to the manger about what had transpired and he said he would make it right. We were asked if we wanted a bottle of water! So in the end nothing was made right for us. Accord Hotels obviously has no consideration for people with disabilities and we warn whoever considers staying at an Accord hotel to think very carefully.

As soon as we arrived we felt immediately relaxed and truly valued as a guest. The hotel is in the most magical of locations within the walled medieval city. Upon first entering the hotel, it has a traditional feel with the staff offering a warm and friendly welcome. The room we had, overlooked the turrets with tranquil gardens and the old town of Carcassonne beyond. The room itself was very comfortable with a spacious bed fitted with quality bedding and a pillow menu for your choice of comfort. The breakfast was plentiful with a large selection of fresh and dried fruits, breads and pastries, cheeses and deli meats, pancake station in addition to the hot offerings. We didn’t even make it back to the UK before talking about when we were going to book another stay here. If you are looking for a relaxing, romantic setting for a magical break then look no further.

We had a very pleasant stayed at the hotel de la cite , the location is just one in a million , you feel the history in every corner . The staff was very friendly and professional , our bedroom was delightful with a beautiful view of the garden. We also had supper at the restaurant Barbacane and we found our meal to be very refined and tasty , we will always remember the sunset from the restaurant terrace!

I wanted the experience to feel like I was living in a castle and that is exactly what it felt like. The room was beautiful, the grounds are well taken care of and sitting by the pool was magical. There were many delicious options at breakfast and doing the signature dinner at the restaurant while sitting on the patio was memorable. The only items that I'd mention is the possibility of a sign or two on the way from the parking lot to the hotel and a little better check in experience. I'm not sure if the staff was overly busy since we arrived at 4 pm, but it took about 10 minutes before we were assisted and while watching how others had been checked in, it felt very rushed and very little information was shared. All that being said, my husband and I do notice things since we've both been in the hospitality industry for years. I will say that it was lovely to have a note and a bottle of bubbles waiting for us in the room since we were there for a special anniversary. Overall though, I would recommend your property to anyone and everyone. I've sent photos to friends and have told them that it's a must if they are in the area.
