Dear J.F., First of all, thank you for taking your precious time to reply to our survey I am sad for you that our quality of servic edid not meet your expectations and I ask forgiveness for that I would like to precise, that we do have 80 rooms an d80 parking spots so we are not limited as we have 2 lands to welcome our guest cars. Due to a fire on the parking that happened mid july we do not have anymore any charging place for electric car, and we will install it again as soon as the assurance expert we come for our issue. Furthermore, i apology about the quality of service during breakfast. with all family and client i can understand that our quality of service was less impressive than usual, and i am very sorry about that. be sure that all your concerns are taking seriously to keep improving all year long I hope to get a second chance to show you our devotion for our valuable guests and teams Warms regards J.A - general manager

On site parking was very limited, and charging the vehicle was impossible. Breakfast was a disaster.

Extremely disappointing experience – rude staff and poor handling of a family booking Our stay was very disappointing, mainly due to the extremely rude and unhelpful check-in staff. We booked two rooms for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 5), but were placed on different floors, with no consideration for us as a family and the fact that we had shared luggage so trips between floors were out of question. When we politely asked for rooms at least on the same floor if not connected, we were told the hotel was “full”. We were then offered two lower-category rooms that were dirty and poorly maintained (which confirmed that the hotel was not actually full) which we refused. We also asked to stay in just one of our original rooms, but were told this was “illegal”, even though two guests were small children and we could have managed to stay in just one room. The check-in staff member was very rude, dismissive, and completely indifferent, showing no willingness to help or understand our situation. In the end, we were forced to stay in one room but still pay for two, which is unacceptable! At checkout, a different staff member was kind and offered complimentary breakfast, which we appreciated, but it does not change the fact that the overall experience was very poor and poorly managed and in the end we did pay for an extra room which was not used at all. Very disappointing and far below expected standards of hospitality.

The location of the Mercure Carcassonne is excellent. The historic fortress of Carcassonne is very close by and easily accessible on foot. This makes the hotel an ideal base for exploring the impressive old town and its sights. The surrounding area is also pleasant, making it a very convenient place to stay when visiting Carcassonne. Unfortunately, the check-out experience completely overshadowed what had otherwise been a very pleasant two-day stay at the hotel. At the front desk, I was speaking with another member of staff when Pauline interrupted the conversation, provided information that was simply incorrect, repeatedly cut me off, and addressed me in an unnecessarily abrupt and dismissive manner. I observed a similar interaction with a Chinese guest who was equally surprised that nobody had informed him about the city tax upon arrival. Instead of calmly explaining the situation, Pauline responded to him in much the same curt and unfriendly manner. Incidentally, I had not been informed about the city tax at check-in either, so this also came as a surprise to me at departure. Working at a busy hotel reception can undoubtedly be stressful, but dealing with guests professionally and respectfully is an essential part of the job. If someone is unable to handle that pressure without becoming rude or confrontational, a customer-facing role in hospitality may simply not be the right position for them. This was particularly disappointing because the hotel itself, its location, and the rest of our stay had left a very positive impression. Unfortunately, just a few words and a few minutes at the front desk were enough to undo much of the goodwill built up over the previous two days.

Excellent location close to the Cite but dark and smelly room with an uncomfortable bed . The madras badly needs to be changed and the whole hotel needs to be renovated in brighter colours! Breakfast was average but in a nice setting. When we lost a card in the room, they kindly told us but we have to pay 17 euros to get it sent to Toulouse-next door. Disappointed by this. No advantages of being Platinium me member - other than the usual free drinks.

The rooms look exactly the same as you booked online with the new featuring since 2023 when we renovated the hotel : black, and wood. The breakfast is composed with all mandatory items imposed by Mercure brand by Accor, and we add local products to make you discover specialty from our area as cheese, cold cut, cakes, fruits and some juices... I am sad that you qualified it as Average ! I would like to precise the Platinium had been consied when we FREE upgrade you , more than a welcome drin, as it's not Compulosry, but subject to avaialbility and we made it happen for you ! You forget an item in the room, we work with an app to send forgettable items to our dear guests, we do not have any power nor choice on the price ! peak'in offers you different way to send your belongings according to weight, distance and speed of delivery. That's explains your 17€ tha tyou refused to valid ! I am sorry that our service did not reach your expectations. And i ask forgiveness for that. Lovely 2 night stay with partner and toddler. Our room was very comfortable, quiet, spacious and had everything we needed. Nice pool, great breakfast, friendly staff. 5 mins walk to the main gate into the medieval city.

The hotel is well located but weird black & purple decor which is too dark & depressing. Most of the staff appear untrained & unwilling to help, very little social skills which are required in the hospitality industry. The best member of staff was Asiah (hopefully correct spelling) on Reception, everyone else disappointing. Breakfast had a very poor buffet offering & they need more chairs by the pool, bad to see guests sitting on the floor.

Mixed bag of friendly staff and those who clearly don't care. Cleanliness and room amenities ok, but definitely not 4 star. Bathroom getting old (as is most of the hotel) and cupboard space that of an IBIS hotel. Main saving grâce is proximity to old city and easy access. If this was a 3* it would rate much higher.
