Rooms are smelly, hot and probably moldy. No fresh air since it was an open balcony and others could enter in from the balcony. This was the top room they had. No AC. Breakfast was adequate though you could not get no calorie sugar or hot milk. Or if they could, they didn’t understand my poor French and gave me salt instead You had to fill your own bottle for water and the bottles didn’t fit in the refrigerator so no way to get it cold. They advertised extra large bed which turned out to be the typical queen size. I paid extra to get a king as my husband is very tall and I ended up having to sleep on a very uncomfortable daybed. So sleeping on an uncomfortable daybed with no circulation, being hot, and smelling mold was an awful experience … I would avoid this place

Our planned stay was initially disrupted by personal circumstances. The hotel was tremendously helpful with assisting us to work around them for which we were most grateful. This was our first stay at Mercure Carcassone for more than 10 years or so and it felt like a 'new holiday experience'. Our room was clean and comfortable with a view that only Carcassone can provide! All staff we encountered were very professional and helpful - we'll try not to wait another 10 years before returning!
