Where should I begin when talking about this hotel? Should I start with its elegant interior design, its beautifully appointed rooms, or its outstanding location in the heart of Colmar? In truth, all of these deserve praise. Yet what is truly difficult to describe is the level of service and hospitality. I have stayed in many hotels around the world, including properties belonging to some of the most renowned international hotel brands. Yet here, I experienced a level of care and attention that exceeded all expectations. The experience begins from the moment you arrive. The staff take care of your luggage and valet your car while the check-in process is handled seamlessly and professionally. From there, the hospitality reaches another level. You are introduced to the charming town of Colmar and provided with carefully selected recommendations for the finest restaurants and places worth visiting. But the service does not stop there. Once you choose a restaurant, the concierge team will gladly handle the reservation on your behalf. If the restaurant is fully booked, or even if it is not among their recommended options, they will still make every effort to contact the restaurant and secure a table for you. On more than one occasion, I received a confirmed reservation within just a couple of minutes. Some may say that these services are standard for luxury hotels. Perhaps they are. However, what sets this hotel apart is the genuine enthusiasm and sincere desire of the team to help. It feels as though your comfort and enjoyment are their highest priorities. I sincerely wish this hotel brand had properties in more destinations around the world because I am convinced it could compete with the finest luxury hotel chains. Not simply because of the building, the rooms, or the facilities. But because of the exceptional people behind the experience. If I ever return to Colmar, this hotel will be one of the main reasons why. It is far more than just a place to stay. It creates the perfect foundation for a relaxing, luxurious, and memorable visit. It sets the tone for everything that follows. One final thought. As someone who does not speak French, I found myself curious during breakfast about the hotel’s name. I wanted to know how it was pronounced and whether it carried any meaning. When I learned that L’Esquisse refers to the first sketch of a work of art, everything suddenly made sense. What struck me most was that the name is not merely a name. It perfectly reflects the spirit of the hotel. Every detail. Every interaction. Every moment. Feels thoughtfully crafted as if it were part of a carefully designed masterpiece. The irony is that while L’Esquisse means a sketch, there is nothing unfinished about the experience. On the contrary. It feels complete in every sense. After my stay, I can honestly say that L’Esquisse is truly a name worthy of the experience it represents.

Everything was ok. The only thing I would mention is that in your online page the apartments in floor 4 does not say that it only has 1 WC. Since it is 2 bedrooms one would suggest it has 2 complete bathrooms. That detail having just one WC was not comfortable for our family. I would suggest to be very specific in the room description about that detail. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay in Colmar.

Thomas Dubois (concierge) was unresponsive to our request for him to make dinner/van/guide arrangements for over two weeks … then he quit without handing over any notes as to our requests to his overwhelmed successor - so unprofessional!!
