I rather enjoyed my stay at the Ibis hotel, especially with the spectacular view out the window from the 6th floor. The vending machine stole 2 euros from me though and I didn't report it because I thought I would look stupid doing so. I then no longer made further attempts, like to get coffee out of the machine. I thought it was weird that the girl at the restaurant couldn't inderstand that I wanted French fries and gave me chips instead. I said patatas fritas. How is that chips??? Anyway, I survived that miscommunication and I pride myself to have taught Spanish for like 30 years in the US. Well, you can't blame the hotel for that, still, weird experience. I also loved the location right by the Restaurante National. Great place to have eaten my lunch, menú de día for $16, very reasonable I thought and well done. No communications issues at that place. Ok, the room itself was nice. I loved the concise small layout. I posted a review on my YouTube channel for my subscribers. Oh, good thing they have a 5 euro airport shuttle because the taxi ride is 28 euros. Overall great place and I will visit again on my next Spain trip this summer. Maybe the vending machine will work out better for me.

The hotel is a very good option for a quiet and good stay. Not recommended if you travel by train, but it has connections to arrive. Because of the type of hotel and the price of the stay, I thought that the room was going to be worse. Instead I found myself in a nice and cozy room, with good pillows (very important for me), and the A/C worked very good. The staff helped us with everything. And the breakfast was fine, small but had options, the only thing I would suggest is that the potato omelette was too dry.

We were quite disappointed with the service we received during our stay. When we arrived, the receptionist who greeted us seemed unhappy to be there and welcomed us with, “What do you need?” which felt unprofessional. Upon entering our room, we discovered that the window had been left open. As it was around midnight and close to 0°C outside, the room was extremely cold and uncomfortable. We returned to reception to report the issue, the staff member on duty did not seem concerned and did not offer any solution. When we requested extra blankets, we were told that none were available, which was surprising for a hotel. Instead, we were offered additional pillows. A pillow? The overall attitude of the staff made us feel uncomfortable, and rather than receiving an apology or assistance, we felt dismissed. Could you please clarify whether your hotel is part of the Accor group? The level of service we experienced did not align with the standards we would expect from an Accor-branded property.yhe

Room, location, and such were above expectations. But what really stood out was the service. I’m sorry I didn’t get names, but a young man at the front desk went above and beyond to help this 70 year old man who can’t speak a word a Spanish. On top of other things he did to help me and explain things for me, he went out of his way to help me with the process of recovering my cell phone which I accidentally left in an Uber ! That wouldn’t have happened without his assistance ! And, he did all this while helping other guests register and check-out. I love Spain and the Spanish people !

The hotel was ok, small but ok. We really needed extra pillows badly but they didn’t have any. We needed extra blankets but they only had one. Besides that our stay was fine. I wish there was an actual bathroom for more privacy. It would be nice if the toilet “door” had a lock or at least a magnet to keep the door in place. I wish there were more towels, they only leave one showering per person and that’s it, none for the face or hands. It would be nice if they had those folding luggage racks. Price was good for a 6 day stay. Room service was good everyday. Customer service was good
