We had a 5 night stay from 1st December for the main purpose of attending the Christmas markets. We have used Accor Hotels for some 25+ years and can honestly say that we have never before come across such cheery and helpful staff. The hotel manager in particular went out of his way to accommodate some of my wife's requests and a young lady at breakfast spotted my wife having some difficulty cutting some bread at breakfast and stepped in to offer assistance. The pre visit emails were answered very promptly with useful information supplied. The manager made some suggestions about things to do and one in particular was really special. If you visit Metz you simply must go and do the Sentier des Lanternes a simply superb illuminated trail through the trees a must in particular for children. A free of charge trail provided by the local authority. The hotel is ideally situated near the cathedral and a short taxi ride from the station.

love those old historical hotels. And the Mercure Metz Cathedrale is perfectly located, has nowadays features and yet, still wear the signs of the old building

You can’t beat the location, nicely situated in the center of the city, making everything walkable. The rooms are impeccably decorated but probably a bit too small for a longer stay. Would be better with a door for the shower and sink area.
