We were lucky to find an empty space on the road outside the hotel. The car park has no accessible spaces. On arrival at the hotel the pavement outside was poor condition and the kerb was too high to access independently. I complained about it but was met with shrugs. When I mentioned it again on leaving a helpful member of staff showed me that they had a ramp. I don't know why it isn't left outside as it would make life easier for everybody (most luggage is wheeled). The room was small but functional. They only have one accessible room for people with reduced mobility which is hard to believe. There is a wetfloor shower room but the drain was blocked, I only had a very quick shower and had to stop before I flooded the whole room. I had to book a second room to accommodate my family (just me, my wife and our teenage daughter), it is very common for accessible rooms to be too small for families which is annoying and expensive as it means booking and being charged for a second room. At least it was half price but it was unusual not to have a link room for an accessible room. It meant that my wife and daughter could have a shower though. The good bit, the evening meal was very good and the staff were excellent at assisting with that. Nice view of the Moselle from the restaurant. The blue cheese was a bit powerful for the burger but it was perfectly cooked and good to enjoy freshly cooked food. In the morning we were woken up by noise outside but we enjoyed a pleasant walk into town from the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel before and the refurbishment has made it really nice and modern. The location in the centre of Metz is excellent with an easy walk to the bars and restaurants around the Cathedral. The price of the rooms is good too.

Hotel location is not central but is quiet and you can use the N83 and N81 free shuttle buses to get around. Staff were helpful and room was clean if a little small.

Overall, a disappointing stay at an old hotel with limited amenities and mixture of staff competency.

The bar still under renovation but for the rest, the corridors, the room and the breakfast area are already new. The rating of "9" instead of "10" was because of construction that was going on inside the hotel. The staff did a pretty good job of insulating us from it though.
