Although I was given an upgrade, the air conditioning did not work, the bed was very noisy (springs) and the toilet was not clean.

We stayed in January it is such a beautiful town plenty of sales and plenty of room at all the historical sites. One thing though it’s some of them stop for lunch Everybody is asked to leave for 90 minutes and then they can come back which is quite unusual. The Cathedral was quite lovelyThe Metz Novotel is very similar to others in France clean, Friendly staff and an enjoyable breakfast. We prefer Novotel as they cater for four people in some of their rooms where others only cater for three. As good as the Novatel is in France they can’t beat Germany. The Germans sure know how to do a breakfast whether you are vegetarian like my f. or enjoy meat, There is something for everyone. To conclude Metz It’s a lovely town and I recommend anybody would enjoy spending a few days there.

Reception staff was very unfriendly, especially a lady who has no idea about hotel restaurant and room service, kept giving us wrong information and spoke loudly. Room was old but still ok. If you don’t care about service, it’s a nice hotel with good location.

Room was OK, but needs renovation. Aircon does not work properly. During dinner a lot of smoking guests around us, also with kids at the tables. Staff was chatting and smoking at the poolside (afternoon around 1600 hrs and 2200 hrs). They kept small distance to each other and did not wear face masks.

On one of year's hottest days, air conditioning failed in hotel. Upgraded to exec room away from direct sun but still very uncomfortable. Room well maintained and clean.

The rooms require considerable maintenance. In particular I have never stayed in 4* hotel with such an awful mates and pillows. This hotel had really put into question the quality of Novotel for me, I would unlikely stay at one again.

OK stay, but tired hotel

Location is pretty good. Parking pretty confusing for first time visitors. We finally found the yellow level. Whilst unpacking suitcases from the car we were appoached by a lost US/CAN tourist asking if we spoke English and how to get into the hotel? :-)) Signposting could maybe be better? Check-in experience good, very friendly. The bricks and mortar of the building are very dated, how old is that separate WC? Rooms could be quite big but the old-fashioned layout means the room felt cramped. Breakfast under Corona conditions was chaotic - wait staff''s English was poor, worse than my French. We chose to eat outside by the pool - mistake, little kids dive bombing into the water splashed our food... maybe ask people to control their kids around the pool during breakfast? Checkout experience also good.

Appalling Covid Measures - Very bad bed

From the parking lot, no elevator limitations. No disinfectant. No signs except for half priced kid's menu. On the other elevators, a sign mentions disinfecting hands is required without any disinfectant in sight. Strangely enough bottled conditioner is provided whereas a backup mask isn't. The bed I slept in was way worse than Ibis beds (metallic creaking, wobbly structure, bad mattress)

Room clean and spacious. Breakfast very poor. Dont bother. Cold reconstituted eggs , fatty bacon. Compared to other novatel we have travelled to the food was not as good for breakfast. Evening meal was lovely though.

This is my first choice when I am for business in Metz. Public Parking with direct access to the hotel, refirbished rooms and nice bar/restaurant. Gym, pool what else do you need? 100% recommendation.

The location is excellent. The access to parks g is inconvenient and not safe. The room was spacious for a family of four. The AC and Heater did not work. The rooms/hotel is outdated and needs improvements. We had dinner at the hotel and it was excellent.

Good familyhotel in good location, but very outdated building, rooms and efficiency. Needs modernization. Elevator 3 smelled of urine, breakfast logistics nightmare. Unhappy staff except for 1 man at reception
