Most pleasant staff there to make you feel welcome in a deserted place. Still a Novotel that may need to think of a revamp after all this is gone but a very quiet room and comfortable bedding made up for the social distancing and eating in the room.

Good stay but cold in the room

Hotel is nice as usual but most probably because not too many people in the hotel the room was very cold and it was not possible to warm it. Aircon at max was making crazy noise..... and we have to turn down the speed.

We loved Metz; it is built with a lovely warm coloured stone, with amazing architecture at every turn. There was a convenient charger near the hotel, and the hotel staff were very welcoming. Dinner was brought to our room, as was breakfast. Both were fine. The hotel is ideally situated for seeing Metz; certainly worth a visit.

We stayed for a night, a family with 2 children. The room was big enough for all, quiet, the bed and couch comfortable, the staff at the reception very helpful. All in all, a good experience. Very good choice to stay at when in Metz.

Although I was given an upgrade, the air conditioning did not work, the bed was very noisy (springs) and the toilet was not clean.

We stayed in January it is such a beautiful town plenty of sales and plenty of room at all the historical sites. One thing though it’s some of them stop for lunch Everybody is asked to leave for 90 minutes and then they can come back which is quite unusual. The Cathedral was quite lovelyThe Metz Novotel is very similar to others in France clean, Friendly staff and an enjoyable breakfast. We prefer Novotel as they cater for four people in some of their rooms where others only cater for three. As good as the Novatel is in France they can’t beat Germany. The Germans sure know how to do a breakfast whether you are vegetarian like my f. or enjoy meat, There is something for everyone. To conclude Metz It’s a lovely town and I recommend anybody would enjoy spending a few days there.

Reception staff was very unfriendly, especially a lady who has no idea about hotel restaurant and room service, kept giving us wrong information and spoke loudly. Room was old but still ok. If you don’t care about service, it’s a nice hotel with good location.

Room was OK, but needs renovation. Aircon does not work properly. During dinner a lot of smoking guests around us, also with kids at the tables. Staff was chatting and smoking at the poolside (afternoon around 1600 hrs and 2200 hrs). They kept small distance to each other and did not wear face masks.

On one of year's hottest days, air conditioning failed in hotel. Upgraded to exec room away from direct sun but still very uncomfortable. Room well maintained and clean.

Excellent hotel right in the city center and close to all attractions. Hotel parking is spotless and very nice with direct access with the elevator to the hotel. Breakfast is plentiful and very good and the dinner is even better.

Very sad experience. In the most uncomfortable corner of Metz city center. A dark and badly maintained building. Bad pillows. Bathroom not clean, moldy shower, one small bottle of water in a double room, in short: severely insufficient.

Ok for a weekend trip, very friendly staff, room was ok, not too load. BUT And this is the reason because i can only say, "It's ok just for a weekend", I was thinking they were joking with me, as I saw the lavatory. I was searching for the adult one. The lavatory is for little children, so low that you have your head between your knees. A really small and low one. That's really a no go.

We had a nice 2 nights stay (8-10 June). Very good location, but it should be communicated on the hotel website that the parking is in the Yellow level of the Centre Commercial Saint Jacques, and you can find at the left side end of the parking the elevator directly to the Reception. Yes, it is an old building, and the passed time has some marks on the building and rooms, BUT it doesn't mean that it is dirty, etc. Actually the room maids made a good job. The receptionists, both the man and women were very kind and helpful. He helped us to change the room as we prefer the twin setting over the double. So, the room was rather large and the beds and beddings are just perfect. I had a temptation to bring them to home :) .... The heated swimming pool is just next to the restaurant/bar, but when you are there and see that nobody has problem with this, you can go through the tables and go out to the pool. The breakfast was OK, there are many stuff to try, even you can make your fried eggs. Even if there was a high traffic at Sunday morning there were due attention by the staff to ensure that everything is in order and you are not starving... Maybe, they should put some tomato and paprika, as well. But, we were satisfied and the breakfast was really good for starting a walking day in the town. We just checked the gym and it is also good for keeping you fit... In brief, we had much better experience than we would expect after reading some rather critical opinions. At first, I thought maybe we were in a different hotel, but not. So, we just can recommend this hotel, since we had a very good experience here. Basically what we need? If you are with car, you need a good parking place - yes, it is here, but it should be better communicated. (and if you are with a high car, take care with the hight restriction). It is close, but not too close to the center. You need a good breakfast, lunch, dinner or bar, yes you have. But also there are many possibilities in the vicinity. You want (probably) to sleep, Yes, we tried to figure out what kind of matelas are these because we are very sensitives to the sleeping quality and found these very good. And also the beddings are good and not just a blanket between two sheets which is a nightmare... Finally, even if we changed the original executive room to a "lower level" one, due to the need for twin beds, we were very satisfied and happy for this. We saw that the kids were also happy with the "table-football" :)
