Easy booking, well working entrance late at night with no crew in the hotel, very dirty floor in hotel room, you shouldn't leave anything on the floor, toilet rooms really need renewal, nice crew next morning. And the most important: Very fair prices.

My recommendation as a low budget traveler: Do not go there! Even though it’s cheap – rooms and sanitary facilities are just horribly dirty and it’s really worth paying more for having a clean room somewhere else. Furthermore, such a bad service should not be supported at all. Here’s my story: I am used to not have much comfort and I haven’t expected a lot from this hotel due to the bad reviews. But this was too much! I arrived and checked in at the self-check-in machine. No hotel staff was there. The machine printed two receipts. I stored my luggage at the room that was indicated at one of the receipts and left to explore Metz. When I came back, I realized that on the second receipt another room number and door code was indicated. I asked the reception if I had to change the room tomorrow. She could not speak English (only a few words) and explained to me (in French) that I was in the wrong room, the room would belong to another guest. I was confused and ask, why then the machine had printed this receipt (including door code), if it was not my room. No answer... so I changed the room. (I still had the door code of the other guest's room and hoped that at least I was the only one with the door code for my room). Then I realized how dirty my room was. It’s not such a big deal for me, that the walls weren’t white anymore, but I really have a problem with horribly dirty bed sheets (bed sheets were full of tabacco, crumbs, and other dirt). I complained. The receptionist wiped away some crumps with her hand and was like: “now it’s clean”. I was like: “No it’s not. It’s still dirty everywhere. I don’t think that the bed sheets are fresh”. She was like: “There are fresh”. After a short discussion, she finally gave me new bed sheets. Still I had the feeling, that no one had cleaned the room after the last guest, and I felt disgusted and uncomfortable in this room. Then I went to the toilets: incredible dirty. Everywhere used toilet paper. Like dirty highway service station toilets. And the showers were dirty as well. I tried not to touch anything and felt disgusted. I warmed my food in the microwave (which was dirty as well of cause) and wanted to eat outside. But it was very dirty outside and there were many mice. The next day, I wanted to go exploring the city again – but the receptionist called me back. She said I had not paid yet. I told her that I had paid for both nights at the self-check-in machine. But she maintained her view and told me I either should leave my room or pay now (another guest translated this in English for me, so I was sure that this was really what she had said). I tried to explain her again (in French) that I had paid and even showed her the payments in my banking app. I phoned my bank and they confirmed the payments. After 1 hour! she suddenly said: ok, it’s ok. I was surprised and asked her if there is now no problem anymore. She was like: No. Then she even lied at me and said that she just had mistaken me and thought, I wanted to complain that I paid for one nights twice (again: she was the one who had called me back and told me I had to leave my room if I don’t pay…). At least, she said sorry.

I am very sorry to say but this establishment cannot be considered as a hotel. The room could have been acceptable and we wanted to stay for a night because it had been paid but the state of the facilities and the frightening area forced us to leave to another last second booking.

It was not clear from the website that there is no private bathroom with the room. Everytime to go to the common bathroom for the whole floor one needed to take the receipt with them to remember the room code. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, it would have been nice to know that there is no personal bathroom with the room from before.

Very unpleasant, micro small room, bad smell in the whole hotel since the reception. Toilets in a terrible condition, no cards for the ddor, only a little tiny paper with the code for the door. Too many occupants at the same time. Not a good experience.

I use F1 fairly regularly (2-3 times per year). I've never stayed at this one before, and I was disappointed. Just a list a minor issues which I don't expect at F1: - no towels (since when?) - room was very cold on arrival (heater off, window open) - sink in room was blocked (water didn't drain) - free wifi not available. It said I needed to get login credentials from reception, but I arrived late (after 11pm) and reception was not staffed - soap dispenser empty in shower - chair in bedroom badly cracked across the seat - lots of litter outside the hotel around doorways and on the grass

Disappointed with overall experience.

Car park didn't feel secure with amount of people milling around. Room stank of cigarettes, stains on walls and ceiling, toilet and its floor covered in urine! Not the sort of standard of accommodation I expect in a French hotel. Will NEVER use it again or recommend it.

The room was not cleaned before my second arrival. First arrival was 13.30. The cleaning woman did not remove the extra child bed from the former guests, I had to do that myself. The cleaning lady was rude my second day, and told me in a not polite way that I hadn’t paid for my stay. We went to the desk and I spoke to the women there. I explained that I did the booking true the official F1 website and paid directly. I guess it’s impossible to get the access code from the machine without paying, so they should have been little more humble to their guests. Horrible location of the hotel. Horrible showers and not nice toilets. Needs renovation. I’ve tested a lot of different F1 before, but this is by far the worst in my experience.

Upon arrival there were alot of people hanging around outside. The hotel smelt. The fire exit was open all night. It looked like families were permanently living in the hotel. Felt unsafe.

It was so bad, we didn't stay. We looked in the room and immediately left.

Truly appalling. It was basically a holding camp for refugees. The rooms we're absolutely filthy - including the bedding. Photo's we're taken to show just how bad it was. Truly awful. I will be seeking a full refund.

Hotel in run down area, didn't feel safe in the slightest. People living here, it's more of a half way house than hotel. Rooms smelt terrible and my daughter was bitten multiple times by something in the bed. Didn't stay as didn't feel safe so b9ked elsewhere.

We had previously stayed in an F1 hotel in Reims and had found it basic but clean and in an area from which you could walk to a local restaurant. This F1 was in an isolated location, the toilet was not that clean and there were stains on the walls of our room. I know it is a cheap option but a lick of paint and some other small touches would improve it greatly.
