The hotel is well located near the center of Metz, but also very close to the motorway. I loved the old building, it has a lot more charm than a new glass and steel one. We were afraid we wouldn't find a parking spot, but that wasn't a problem after all. The room (318) was a good size, but it showed signs of damage, especially the bath, which had deep gouges in it. This let the overall experience down. The breakfast was very good and well worth the price.

Overall very friendlly personnel but I was taken a bit aback, and frankly unpleasantly surprised, when I discovered that the bin in the bathroom was still full of personal disposal of the previous guest. The toiled also did not flush correctly.

I came on several occasions to the Citadelle Metz and I can undoubtedly say that this hotel is certainly the best one to stay for your time in Metz, I would recommend it. The rooms are spacious and airy, decorated with taste, with views on a small square with century-old trees. The restaurant offers fine food. Metz downtown is 10ish minutes walk distance. One bemol, the parking sometimes can be unavailable as it cannot accomodate all hotel guests coming by car.
