Rented 2 rooms for my family of 6. Rooms were clean and well appointed. One room 121, had a slight mildew smell at the sink, but other than that we were very pleased with our stay. Will definitely be coming back.

We had a very nice stay at hotel La Citadelle. The location of the hotel is a beautiful quiet spot and near the old city. Comfortable large rooms, nice breakfast and excellent service over all.

I already provided my comment upon signing in for the Wifi. Which is why it is rather odd that I am being asked again to provide my review. There was a very uncomfortable rubber molten underneath our sheet, above the mattress. It honestly felt like we were in a very uncomfortable old hospital bed. Besides the fact that rubber does not breathe, it makes annoying sounds, feels terrible, is stiff and simply unacceptable in any hotel of 4 stars or better. out of 4 windows, 2 had blinds, but no curtains. Carpark was convenient but overly crowded, so we had to park right before the security post, not in a parking spot. Overall we really liked Metz, but really were not impressed by this MGallery hotel

Lovely hotel, centrally located with on site parking. Efficient friendly check-in (thanks Didier) and very comfortable clean room. Reassuring infection-control measures. Good breakfast buffet. We'll return and try the hotel bikes next time! Merci.

I visited for a few days during my birthday week. Everything about my brief stay was lovely. The food in the restaurant was just incredible and the breakfasts had more than enough options to satisfy any mood, and the dinner the first night was one of the best I have had in ages. The room itself was comfortable and cozy, and the hotel location was perfectly suited to days spent walking around town. I loved every moment!

Guest rooms need better illumination. Missing breakfast time by only a few minutes, staff could have reacted more professionally and been more accommodating.

The hotel is extraordinary. The "casernes" of the buiding are very well used. Service and accomodations could not be better. As the hotel is enclosed in a park, quiet and silence are the only things you can find. Location could not be better, as it is just feet away from the center of the town.

Spent a night in The Citadelle Metz and was blown away with the courteous relaxed and professional service given by all the staff in this hotel. My room was spacious and comfortable with every amenity I might ever want. Sleep quality was second to none. In the morning after a very relaxed breakfast you can walk to the close by centre of the city Definitely the place to stay in Metz

The bed of the superior room where we where upgraded soit totaly smooth and unconfortable at all, the screen of the TV was like my laptop one and the bathrobe were missing ... What an upgrade. In addition to that no information from the receptionnist regarding the parking rate.

Located facing a park next to the 'Governor's Residence' and the Arsenal cultural centre, it was only a short walk to the commercial centre of Metz and then on down to the river and islands. Our room was huge, almost a suite, with separate bathroom, toilet and entrance hall. Although overlooking a through road, the traffic was minimal and the only noise we vaguely noticed was the (usual in most cities !) noise of the garbage collection (too !) early in the morning. For dinner we ate an enjoyable meal in the restaurant paired to a great local red wine sugggested by the sommelier. The restaurant personnel were very friendly and attentive and the chef was kind enough to bid us farewell.

Room ok. Breakfast ok. Bathroom ok EXCEPT shower arrangement. It was practically impossible to take a shower without splashing water all over the room. A simple curtain would have helped but the showerhead kept turning in its mount so that should posssibly be looked at too.Surroundings and position very good. Service also good.

Superior double room was freezing. No heating. Meal in bistro was awful...sent back twice and staff totally disinterested. Obviously the hotel restaurant is being used to train staff. This really needs to be addressed.

Lovely hotel but inattentive staff (had to wait 10 minutes to check-in, whilst staff were distracted on the computer, but certainly not their guests) and very rude and arrogant barman, who's only contribution was to say "COMPLETE", when we asked about a table in the bistro. No suggestion that we might dine in the A La Carte restaurant or there might be a table in the Bistro, later in the evening. So, if you like inattentive and rude staff, stay here! The receptionist did try to "calm stormy waters" with the barman's attitude, but his behavior had destroyed our wish to dine at the hotel.
