Overall excellent. Beautiful swimming pool facilities. Modern and well furnished hotel. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Friendly and helpful staff. Only area that needs improvement are the bathroom needs renovation and the adjoining bedroom needs a window blind on the velux window to keep out the light. Also find the charging for the car park like a stealth tax.

We visited the hotel in high season, August. Good pretty new rooms, nice building, parking and garden to sit. 15 minutes bike to the beach/centre. Quiet surroundings, no noise from other rooms. One morning, the breakfast was so crowded, we could not move around the buffet, stocks were nog sufficient, other mornings was ok (we deliberately went earlier aroun 9 o'clock). Breakfast offering is good and various. Spa is nice, with outside area to sunbath as well. A lot of staff is working at the bar/lobby area at their laptops. Not always paying attention to the guests, but more to their collegues. Could introduce more serviceminded approach, more friendly, was bit distant (expection man at the reception who was very friendly).

The site is made up of 3 buildings, one for Ibis Styles, one for Mercure and one for Tribe. We originally booked into the Ibis Styles but decided to swap to the Mercure because you got access to the pool and a fridge in the room which we felt was worth the extra. The front-desk, bar, restaurant and seating areas are all shared whichever brand you stay with. It looks like in summer there is an outdoor bar and could imagine it would be very pleasant to sit outside to eat/drink. There are some jigsaws and games that you can borrow. Our room was a family room on the top floor. In the main area, there is a double-bed, a single seat (which can be a bed) plus a coffee table and other chairs. Off to the side is a room with 2 single beds, but there is no door. We had a balcony with a small table and 2 chairs. Bathroom is large with a large walk-in shower. The hotel is in good condition, it seems pretty new, is clean and tidy with no major maintenance issues apart from the towel rail in our bathroom hanging off the wall. We didn't opt for breakfast which we felt was the right choice. It was something like €22 per person per day and when we wondered through it didn't look like a particularly extensive selection. There is a Carrefour supermarket and boulangerie about 10 minutes walk from the hotel so just had cereal with milk, fruit and pastries on the balcony in our room and used the fridge to keep leftovers. The pool does allow children but it is a spa pool so don't bring your inflatables and water pistols! You do get dressing gowns and pool towels in your room - but if you leave your pool towel in the bins in the spa, housekeeping won't replace! If you take it back to your room, you will get a replacement - we made that mistake and despite requesting replacement towels they were never delivered. Car parking is €10 per day and it's just added to your bill at the end. You can go in/out as much as you wish. Whilst the charge was noted when booking and at check-in, it is disappointing and not common for out of town hotels like this to charge for parking in my experience. I think you could park on the street if you wanted. Ultimately it's just a way for the hotel to make their room rates look a bit cheaper when you're booking but make the money back later. As other reviews have noted, the car park is dusty when it is dry. The last part to cover was the staff. Housekeeping staff were great, very friendly and made the babycot every day including arranging all our toddler's stuff toys! As noted in other reviews, we also found that many of the the front-desk and bar staff were not welcoming or engaging and some were really quite officious. The bar staff were not attentive and I gave up waiting to be served at the bar on 2 occasions whilst the staff chatted, without acknowledging my presence. Other hotel staff seem to use the seating areas as their office with them all sitting around a large table in the middle of the hotel lobby with laptops and papers spread out which wasn't a great look. Whilst I was sat playing a board game with my kids, a member of staff sat nearby with their laptop and joined a video call with no headphones. Overall our stay was good, just let down by some of the staff and frustrating car park charge.

This was our fifth stay at the hotel (not that they’ve ever acknowledged were repeat customers,)despite being a member. The rooms remain visually smart and clean (although cheaply done - poor soundproofing, no locks on bathrooms etc) . But the other facilities and services have dropped woefully (where have all the cheerful, helpful staff gone?) - even though the rates have doubled (and they’ve introduced a cheeky parking charge!). We chose to return for a relaxing mini break - but it really wasn’t. We waited over half an hour in the bar for a simple drink to arrive, another hour for a charcuterie board (waiter admitted he’d forgotten to order it - no attempt to apologise or compensate). It ruined the evening and atmosphere in the bar - other guests too were complaining . Breakfast was abysmal: cold slimey scrambled eggs, cold leathery bacon, flies on the cheese, broken coffee machine and no hot chocolate. No sign of any staff to assist. Sauna in spa out of order, spa changing room floors water logged and dangerous - no attempts to clean the messy area nor signs of staff. Attempts to raise issues at reception sneered at and dismissed (no signs of any managers). Too expensive for a dismal experience, we checked out earlier than planned. Hotel has seriously downhill. Have booked elsewhere for next visit.

Very new and smart. Everything was smart, from the chairs in our room to dinner. In addition to smart, the room was also dingy; it needs more light. A double it looked more suited to one person; it needs more wardrobe space. Staff members were courteous and helpful but didn't seem completely at ease (except for the young woman who checked us in, who was superb); they seemed to lack spontaneity. The hotel's Achiles Heel is its distance from anywhere, given Le Touquet's quite lamentable public transport. We gave up and walked everywhere (eg 30' each way for dinner away ftom the hotel). Talking of dinner, the restaurant is good; inventive attractive creations served in good time.
