Positives first - great location just outside walls of the old town,where there are many good restaurants, staff were friendly and helpful, free on street parking across the road. Breakfast was a reasonable continental buffet style breakfast. However the room was extremely small, the bathroom tiny with very thin, small towels. There was no facility for tea or coffee outside of breakfast time either in the room or in reception, except for buying a coffee at the bar.

We stayed here a few years ago and had a lovely room and an enjoyable stay. This time the room was very different - very small and difficult to move around in. The en suite bathroom was similarly tiny. The ventilation in the room was cut off by the heavy curtains and we had to open the window in the night, letting in a lot of traffic noise. But the worst thing was that the double bed had two single mattress toppers on, each with stiff piping arund the edge. These toppers slid around the base a lot, making a gap, and the piping in the middle was actually painful.
