The bed is non comfortable at all - even after being changed to a better room the double bed was made by putting together two single beds being the connection (middle) very annoying for sleeping. Also there is lack of attention to details (gel running out, no laundry bag replacement, no water in gym....)

Where do I start, We was last at the Mercure in August 2025, wow, how things changed! First of all, rooms not ready until 3pm, I get that, but when you arrive and ask at 2.30pm and they say the room is not ready yet, even though the hotel is huge, nobody around, you can't tell me there is not a room free at this time. We asked if we could look around and was told not without a room key, the reception staff was so unhelpful. No one was at the bar to serve coffee, we had to wait a while whilst they tracked down a member of staff. Once the room was ready, we were so disappointed, it was grubby & dated. The safe didn't work, but that wasn't a big problem to us as we took out valuables out with us. We had dinner in the restaurant, that was a disaster, they got my whole order wrong, left me to sit without food whilst my husband had his, so unacceptable. Once eaten we went back to the room. Upon entering it was freezing in there, we tried to put the heating on and it didn't work. We noticed they had given us one pillow each, the extra pillows in wardrobe was stained yellow with no cases on them. It was then I noticed how bad the bathroom area was, absolutely vile, filthy! I had enough, I called down to reception to ask to move rooms, she was very abrupt, said il check, and put the phone down. By this time it was 8pm, we had an early start that day, travelling from 2am. After and hour wait my husband said let's just go to sleep, we will be gone in morning, so we did, then half an hour later someone was knocking on the door. So took a total of an hour and half to get back to me. By then it was too late. I would NEVER recommend this hotel, and would NEVER come back. Staff rude, rooms dated and dirty.
