I know this hotel well and come back often due to a conference in town. However, this time I must say I was left disappointed. The prices were extra high for a so-called executive room (432) that had many flaws: tiles in the toilette sticking out, bad smell from the toilette, some finishes in the bathroom also not corrected/improved; so overall fine and perfect location and I still enjoy Novotel in general this particular time and this room I felt I didn't get the level I paid for.

The receptionist named Yacima was particularly helpful. After a long trip and me not feeling well she was able to accommodate us with an earlier check in. Her kindness was so appreciated. With rest I was able to enjoy the next few days in Mechelen.

There was one small pillow per person on the bed, and an unsupportive pillowy mattress topper on top of a hard bed, that slipped down during the night. Also the air was incredibly dry. Breakfast was good as usual. I have stayed here before, so this complaint doesn't apply to all rooms. Unfortunate, because I love Novotels in general.

As I i formed to the hotel staff, it was clear signes of that somebody had been in my room. Two types of foot prints in the bathroom and broken suitcase lock. The stay felt unsafe an creepy. This hotel needs a good cleaning. Extremely dirty walls.
