From the moment we arrived for our 3 night stay we were treated to exceptional standards, from the door staff, the checkin process and the absolute wow factor when we entered the room/apartment. We stayed on the 55th floor in a 2 storey apartment with fantastic views of the city from both balconies. A special mention to the house keeping staff for maintaining the high standards of how our room was kept throughout our stay.

Arriving late the first night, my wife and I decided to go up to pool/bar area for a quick bite and drink. The manager did not welcome us at all so we left. I was not happy. On the third night my wife suggested to give the SLS bar another chance. This this time we sat at the reception floor bar. The service was great, even the manger came to us to chat for a while. We felt welcome as we enjoyed the recommended cocktails and food. What a contrast!

Diamond ALL status for the past few years makes me able to compare hotels. In Dubai my absolute favorite is Raffles Dubai. Old but decent and everything works perfectly. I was about to check SLS since some time already but only now I tried. And I’ll never come back to this SLS. It’s a beautifully designed hotel which as an Architect I appreciate but the operation is a disaster. Breakfast - waiting time and not getting things ordered. Lounge - as only 3 guestet we were waiting 20 minutes for someone to approach and one hour for the food which finally didn’t arrive. Problems with the open tab that didn’t show in the Privilidge restraurant. Then 30 minutes for checkout process. In one word - mess. If you’re for business when time counts - avoid it. If just to relax, it’s really nice, views are spectacular and the pools are really amazing. I’ll prefer to stay at the Raffles again…
