The main problems were obvious from the start: the minibar did not cool, there was apparent mould-like staining and condensation inside it, and the bed linen had brown spots- including some that appeared to resemble dried blood. We reported the minibar repeatedly over several days. A security officer (not even a technician) eventually confirmed that it was not working and reset it, but the issue was never properly resolved. Drinks remained warm, so we had to request ice. We were later told there was no record of our earlier reports and then given conflicting information that a technician had found the minibar working. Reception also stressed that it was a minibar rather than a refrigerator, which felt rather condescending; we understand the distinction, but drinks placed inside remained warm throughout the stay (warmer than the room!). Housekeeping was also well below expectations. In addition to the stained linen, there were coffee stains on the table and visible dust on arrival. We asked for the linen to be replaced, but it was not changed after our first request, and the stains remained the following day. Room supplies were also inconsistently replenished. We appreciated the complimentary breakfast and late checkout offered at the end. However, these gestures did not make up for the cleanliness issues, unresolved minibar fault and repeated lack of follow-up. Overall, this was far below the standard we expected from a four-star hotel.

I added an extra night to my booking and it caused this hotel huge headaches! They didn’t understand, after several emails, that I was the same person. The inept customer service was astonishing. On check in I sat at the Priority checkin desk and waited while others were served at the normal desk before me . I explained to the checkin lady my situation and she said that the system was in order and now they understood that I was there for 3 days not 2. Well!! she was wrong. After 2 days I was sent Thank you for staying with us- as I was now checked out! But, my room key still worked in the lift and the room??? Security?? For some reason I was unable to charge anything to my room so we paid cash for food and drinks; however on the last night our friends food and drinks bill- that they asked to pay for 3 times- was charged to my room??!! We were disappointed with the whole situation is an understatement, frustrated at having to continually correcting the situation and the fact that on our final checkout they didn’t try to understand they just wanted to know about payment.
