There appeared to be no recognition of loyalty benefits for Accor status members during my stay. As an Accor Gold member, I had certain expectations following a long and tiring journey, which were unfortunately not met. 1. While there was a dedicated check-in counter for Accor status holders, it was unattended at the time of my arrival as well as deparature. As a result, I had to wait in the regular queue, and there was effectively no priority check-in experience, which is a key Gold status benefit. 2. No welcome drink was offered upon arrival, despite this being a standard benefit even for Silver status members. 3. Gold status includes eligibility for an upgrade to the next room category, subject to availability. When I inquired at the front desk, I was informed that no upgrades were available. However, after checking into my room, I noticed on the Accor app that upgraded room inventory was in fact available. This discrepancy was disappointing and raised concerns about the transparency of the response. 4. Early check-in is another benefit associated with Gold status. Despite this, my request was declined. Given that we had endured a 22-hour journey with a layover in Dubai, including overnight travel, and were accompanied by two senior citizens and a three-year-old child, this was particularly difficult. I ultimately had to make repeated requests just to secure one room slightly earlier. Overall, the stay felt like a standard hotel experience without any meaningful acknowledgment of loyalty status. As a Marriott Gold member as well, I have experienced a noticeably higher level of recognition and service consistency, highlighting a clear difference between the two programs.
