Having stayed at numerous Accor Group hotels, I expected a warm, welcoming experience at Mercure Riyadh Al Anoud, but this stay unfortunately fell far short of expectations. Arrival & Check-In: Upon arriving by taxi, there was no bellboy available to assist us with our luggage, forcing us to unload and carry everything ourselves while trying not to hold up the driver. At check-in, the reception staff lacked basic hospitality—there was no welcoming smile, and despite requesting a higher floor or an room upgrade, no effort was made to assist or accommodate us. Rooms: To be fair, the rooms themselves were clean and comfortable, and we had no complaints regarding the physical accommodations. Breakfast & Service: Breakfast was a major disappointment. The staff seemed completely disinterested, unresponsive, and unprofessional. The overall atmosphere was so unwelcoming that after the first morning, my family and I skipped breakfast for the remainder of our stay—despite having pre-paid for it. Notably, no member of the management team ever noticed or reached out to inquire why a registered family stopped coming down for breakfast. Maintenance Issues: Every single day, my room key card deactivated, requiring daily trips to the front desk to re-key it—despite storing the cards separately from my phone and electronics. Overall: While the room quality is good, hospitality and guest care are severely lacking. I would not choose to stay at this property again on future visits to Riyadh.

I mainly stay at this hotel because of my work. It’s a comfortable place to stay and feels like a second home. All the staff are helpful and welcoming. The location is also very convenient, as it’s close to the metro and a supermarket. Everything I need is within easy reach. I have been to this hotel a few times and every time I find things to be imrpved: the roo m very small, teh shpwer inside teh bathtub, the make upo of teh room late in teh afternoon, teh reception with gentlemen who do not speak English, restauarnt with poor food
