Room was nice, bed was comfy and amenities were vast. My status was recognised, but no offer to upgrade to the next room category despite my platinum status & 2 night stay, hotel didn’t seem to be fully booked. I’ve noticed other Accor properties around the region tend to upgrade except for Fairmont, but I’m not complaining though as you get what you pay for. Toilet issue - Urine was leaking in my room from the toilet which made an unbearably bad smell every time we went to relieve ourselves. For a distinguished hotel such as Fairmont I would have hoped that the toilet was properly maintained. Sometimes Royal Service took a bit long to respond, I understand that we are not the only guests but to name something like that and to receive standard service is a bit underwhelming despite the name of “Royal Service”. I would have been happy with standard/slow service if they had just named it as housekeeping. All staff members were friendly and very nice - no complaints there. Pool felt a bit too small & gym was really good for a hotel. The sauna was amazing. Location is okay, nothing is walking distance so it’s best advised to book an uber or have your own car. Overall, stay was decent but was lacking in some departments.

Our stay at the Fairmont Riyadh was already great, but what truly made it unforgettable was Mustafa. When we arrived, Mustafa kindly asked if we had all our luggage with us. Thanks to his attention to detail, we double-checked—and immediately realized that one of our backpacks was missing. He instantly noticed something was wrong and took action right away. He contacted our driver and asked him to return to check the car. When that didn’t solve it, we suddenly remembered that earlier that day we had switched to a jeep to reach the Edge of the World. From that moment on, Mustafa handled everything with incredible calmness and professionalism. He asked all the right questions: photos, contacts, license plates—anything that could help. Even when the driver was unreachable, he didn’t give up. He went as far as tracking down where the driver lived and contacting neighbors to locate him. Eventually, he found the jeep—and our backpack was indeed still inside. Keep in mind, this was about a 1.5-hour drive away. Despite this, Mustafa arranged for a hotel driver to retrieve it immediately. Thanks to him, we got our backpack back around 5–6 AM—just in time for our flight to Abu Dhabi. I have never seen someone react so quickly, think so clearly, and stay so persistent under pressure. Mustafa is truly exceptional. I am convinced that in many other hotels, this situation would not have ended this well. We will never forget him. Thank you again, Mustafa.
