Service in the restaurant on our first night was appalling. As a pre-booked party of 8 we ordered our meals expecting all to be fed at the same time. The first 2 meals (salmon and vegetables) came with cold vegetables. Some of the remaining meals followed eventually. Three of us ordered the crispy chicken and mushrooms - only two of them arrived initially with cold mushrooms! The third chicken dish arrived almost an hour after the first salmon dishes! There was clearly a problem in the kitchen as we noticed adjacent tables were also experiencing uncoordinated delivery. The wait staff were not to blame but had no ability to influence the kitchen. As we had dinner included in our room rate we risked returning for the second night. This time, with a completely different staff the service was timely and coordinated although several menu items were sold out. In fairness, after making our complaint a significant concession was made to our first evenings bill but it is a great shame that the restaurant experience spoils what is otherwise a good hotel for a short break.
