Really lovely grounds, friendly staff, comfortable room. We did have issues both nights in that the restaurant was closed because of large functions being booked so having already paid half board we were forced to eat at the bar - the food and service was lovely, but there is no separate dining for hotel patrons so we ate dinner surrounded by loud, drunken function guests both nights. I also do not rate the spa facilities at all. The jacuzzi feels just below boiling temperature so by the time I’d eased myself in I was too hot and had to get out, and while I found the pool temperature lovely as I love a warm pool and it felt like a nice hot bath, it was so cloudy I couldn’t see my feet and spent a lot of time picking floating bugs/leaves out of it (not sure where they’d come from as the plants in the spa area are plastic). Around a day or so after coming home I noticed several spots appearing and within another day I was dotted in around 70 ish spots only in areas my swimsuit had been and felt quite unwell - I’d brought home hot tub rash as a parting gift. I did alert the spa facility staff and was told their water checks were all normal recently but I suspect the bacteria that causes it is probably thriving in the sun loungers and floors etc so the whole place will need a deep clean. They are aware at least so hopefully this is being organised. Outside of these issues my stay was fairly pleasant, albeit a few crumbs on the desk and a hair in the bed on arrival I had a nice room - I was lucky enough to have what I think may be the only room in the hotel with air conditioning which was a life saver as it was around 24’C outside and the hotel’s heating was on constantly, the room my friend was staying in was molten the whole time as her radiator didn’t have a nob to turn it down/off.

only one accessible room for my 90 year old mother - next to bar and what turned out to be a teenage party disco that went on till midnight - having been told at checkin when i raised concerns - no its very quiet and no one ever complains about noise - i must be the first then!! as i complained in person at reception at 11pm but i dont think the staff gave a s£&t -even when i explained they had known about the party and had lied to me
