However, we are truly sorry that several aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We regret the shortcomings you encountered with the upkeep of your room and the limited seating in a family space. Our daily housekeeping service is designed to maintain high standards, and our front desk team is always available to address any concerns during your stay. Room pretty small. Pull-out couch for the kids was small and hard. Only one chair in a room for a family of four. Cleaning was very bad. One day the dishes were not done. Dust had not been removed some places for a long time. The mirror looked like it was cleaned with a floor mop. The restaurant breakfast was good. But it is way too small, which resulted in long lines and a half empty buffet. No bread etc for long periods. Should not be the case for the price range of hotel and breakfast. On the up side. Nice location and nice looking modern facilities.

Great location near Central train station, and a very comfortable and large room. Although we arrived three hours before official check-in, we were given a room immediately upon arrival, which was very much appreciated.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will definitely stay with you the next time we come to Novotel (although it is often fully booked, which is understandable). Good hotel, well located near the central station and downtown area. Modern rooms with comfy beds but pillows are way too small. Breakfast was always very busy, the room is tiny for so many people, staff were always rushing about and dishes were not always replenished. Reception staff were all excellent but sadly the bar staff, breakfast staff and housekeepers did not have the same standards.

Hotel is well situated and the room was ok. Nevertheless 2 negative points, on-line check-in was not working, i tried several times on different days, and i have been told that i could not charge my extras on my room, even with a deposit,...i had to pay each time, which is very uncommon, not to say unique as it never happened to me over the last 30 years of travels...I asked why....and was told that cusotmers could leave without paying so to eliminate the risk, they had to pay each time they consume something....thanks for your trust! so, i went somewhere else rather than spending money at this hotel, and i think i ll go somewhere else next time where I might feel welcomed, hopefully.

However, we are truly sorry to hear that several aspects of your experience fell short of your expectations. The online arrival option is normally available, and we regret that technical difficulties prevented you from using it on this occasion. Your comments about the payment process have also been noted, and we understand how the extra authorisation required to allow charges to the room could feel cumbersome. A credit card pre-authorisation covering the stay plus a nightly deposit is our standard procedure, and without it, charges cannot be posted to the room. However, this was done upon your arrival and should have ensured that you could post charges to the room. We will do a retraining for our front desk team to ensure better handling going forward. Nonetheless, our hotel enjoys a prime position in the heart of Hamburg, just steps from the main station and the shopping district, and we are glad this contributed positively to your trip. There was no service - guides for elevator and card using! And you needed to check in twice…. The breakfast was very much expensive EUR 114,- for 2 persons one night …..

Our elevators do require the key card for operation, and we understand how this can feel unclear when arriving for the first time. This is why we have a short picture instruction in all our guest elevators. The front desk team is always available to walk guests through these features and provide the WiFi name ("Novotel"), which is accessible free of charge by simply entering your email address or membership number on the login page. This page should open automatically once you have connected to the wifi network. Your comments on the overall value and the breakfast offering have been noted, and we appreciate you bringing these points to our attention. However, we could only find a charge for breakfast for 58€ on your invoice, which is our regular price for two persons. If you paid more, can you please provide us the receipt so we can check and reimburse if there was a second charge? We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. I was travelling from Rostock back to England and decided to spend a night in Hamburg to make the journey more relaxing. The Novotel was a short walk from the main station, and an even shorter walk to the S-Bahn for the airport the following morning. The restaurant was good, and I appreciated the Nordic influence. Room was comfortable and the shower was particularly good. Like many hotels this double room would be better with two comfortable chairs, but one was good enough for me.
