Centrally located, convenient stay

Ibis Hamburg City is a 10min walk from the Central Station, many major sightseeing spots can be reached by walking. Rooms are a little tight for 3 people, not much space to stow luggage. Staff was incredibly friendly!

Real problems with cleanliness but friendly staff

Unfortunately, we had to change our room several times until we found a room that wasn’t very dusty and had a clean bathroom. Even in the last room, the glass door to the bathroom and the light switch were still dirty and there was a plumbing problem meaning that there was a really bad smell of sewage before the shower was used for the first time every day. I was however helped very well by the assistant to the director and the super efficient caretaker (when I dropped an earring into the sink by accident) and the staff in the breakfast room were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was great, as was the location, just 1 underground station from the main station. Unfortunately, cleanliness is the most important thing for me in any hotel and therefore I can’t give a better rating for this hotel.
