We came to Hamburg for the (unfortunately cancelled) Hella Hamburg Half Marathon, but any regret we felt at not being able to run the half was made up for by Hamburg's beauty, hidden gems and the lovely staff and great location of the ibis Hamburg City! It's only a 4 minute walk to the U-Bahn which will take you anywhere you want to go to in Hamburg, from Westfields mall to St Pauli to the art gallery. And only a 10 minute walk to the Hauptbahnhof which has a supermarket (Edeka) open on Sunday! Lots of coffee and food spots if you don't want to go into the city, and regular trains to the airport. The staff at the ibis were great, the aircon was lovely during the heatwave. I couldn't recommend this hotel more if you are staying in Hamburg.
