The staff was friendly and effective. The room was quite small and lacked the usual bedroom amenities such as a decent night stand and coffee maker. I was distressed to find a large blood stain on one of the very thin pillows. The entire room felt more like a college dorm room rather than a hotel for adults. The shower was nice and I was happy there was a door. A shelf would have been nice to store my toiletries. I only had to stay one night so I could adapt. Nice hotel currently undergoing renovation. We got to stay in one of the freshly renovated rooms and it was great! The bunk bed was a hit with kids and the bathroom was well built. The hotel is only 10 minutes walk away from the train station and you can easily get to Hafen-City in 15 minutes. One thing that I would improve is breakfast selection: while the staff was friendly and hard-working and there was plenty of bread, sausages, and sweets to choose from, the healthy food options were more limited.
