The staff and facilities were exemplary. Special mentions to Jay, Megan, Madhu, Sunny & Anthony. I've been a long stay occupant from October 2020 and it's been great with the exception of being asked to leave with 3 days notice which was really nerve-wracking when you have 3 kids coming to you every fortnight. The hotel on it's own became a home for me and i treated it as such. Yes i would stay there again because it's friendly and familiar and if you guys had 2 bedrooms or larger rooms I would definitely consider it. Overall a great experience.

Off to a bad start

On arrival I was unable to park my car at the front door due to traffic and 'no standing' area, so I had to negotiate around the block and found a car entrance. However there were no instructions on how to open the car park door. I later found that there was an intercom, but it was obscure and unlabeled, due to vandalism. I would suggest some new signage, that is vandal proof . I resolved to phone the hotel, but the phone number was not displayed anywhere. I rang the Accor reservation number, who connected me to the reception desk. This all took many minutes, and I had cars behind me, tooting and being impatient.... I arrived at the reception desk greatly hassled and anxious. The person who checked me in was apologetic and said the situation would be looked at ... I hope so

A little unfamiliar with big city motels, took a little time to learn the basics....key card operation in lifts etc.... parking needs more explanation, signage...

I don’t know where the noise come from but it was really noisy during my stay so that I had to leave the hotel and check it back. And phone to the reception is not as convenient as other hotels too.

except the bathroom..where I found the last persons shampoo and soap (so not covid safe) & mould on tiles at bottom of shower. Also had to ask for missing dinner plates, knives, forks and blankets also missing...a bit odd really.

We evacuated from the Dandenongs to The Chen after 4 days without power. Madhu (apologies, as I have probably misspelled his name) was a ray of sunshine in reception and explained everything to us patiently and with a sense of humour. He seemed to be everywhere and did everything. His female colleague who checked us out was equally hospitable. Our stay was short but very comfortable. And when we found our power at home was back on early, the hotel allowed us to cut our stay short without penalty. The rainhead shower was magnificent. The artwork was beautiful and reminded us of home (birds). What an outstanding hotel. And the rate was quite modest compared to that of many lesser establishments.

We stayed at The Chen for 3 nights due to our home being declared a state emergency disaster zone, and we couldn't have asked for a more comforting hotel experience to make us feel welcomed and safe again. The staff were absolutely supportive, accommodating and friendly. Always asking if you needed anything and so responsive. Fantastic and convenient location.

Initial booking staff and also internal staff were very accommodating with my requests for my family during a tough time when Melb lost power for a few days. Late checkout and extra requests were promptly actioned with a smile. Will definitely come back as we already love Box Hill. Great value for money, refreshing to find a new hotel with pricing not overinflated.

I had to spend a week with you, it was nice to have the things I wanted changed without fuss or bother. I liked the room style and the bed was comfortable.
