Don’t stay here!!

The rooms are 3 star at best. The skirting boards are rotting, the shower is dirty and I can’t even log into Kayo on the television as it’s so old it doesn’t have the capability to add Kayo. This place is in DESPERATE need of a facelift. If we weren’t playing golf tomorrow I would have gone straight back home. So disappointing.

Big beautiful room on first impressions, but generally tired with the little things not quiet up to the 5 star prices. Furniture is slightly scuffed, chipped, scratched or has the vanish pealing, with unexplained holes/shelves. Views of the course are lovely but the sheer curtains are missing, meaning you either have the block out curtains closed casting the room in gloom and needing to have the lights on, or the block out curtains open so everyone can see in. The towels are a great size but not soft and fluffy, no makeup mirror or lights with little room on the vanity unit. Modern expectations like the light switches being in reach of the bed, usb charging ports near the bedside tables missing, wifi being even slightly secured, tv’s don’t pull out from the wall so hard to connect travelling devices E.g. chrome cast, Laptop, external HDD, usb sticks etc. so bring a power board and extension lead. Good location for a get away, if you just want to cosy up and stay in or visit the local foodie gems and sights, but be prepared.

I agree with another reviewer, Peppers is trading on its past reputation. We have stayed in all the RACV resorts in Victoria and the management of Peppers Moonah Links needs to have a good hard look at what they are offering as a luxury stay. We decided to pay extra for the open room with a deep bath tub and rain shower. The room was huge and empty. We had to ask for seating to be brought to our room. The room was shabby and needed maintenance. Inclusions you would normally get in a hotel of this standard were very minimal. One tiny bathmat and one hand towel for two people where you have a separate tub and shower room. I requested a different pillow which never arrived. We paid about $120 extra for the bed and breakfast package. The first morning we were offered a selection from an a la carte menu. It was like eating in a cheap diner. The next morning there was a buffet. The smallest and most limited buffet we have ever experienced in a large hotel. Very few people were in the dining room on both mornings. Very telling. We are disgusted that we virtually paid $60 each for this paltry breakfast. There is a serious management problem here. Accor hotel group needs to look at what is being offered in the area. RACV is always heavily booked midweek. You get so much more for less cost. Needless to say we will not be back and would not recommend Peppers.

Disappointing stay and no play.

Whilst the open room is pricey the layout and appointments in the room are quite good. Staff were helpful enough however on arrival at night felt as though I should know the layout in lieu of being guided verbally to the room. Stayed here as I was keen to play golf at either course. Unfortunately due to work time constraints could only fit 9 holes in. This, was not allowed through the pro shop and an explanation of we don't allow 9 holes on that course was all that was provided. Extremely disappointing from a staying guest standpoint and the reputation that precedes the establishment. The girl in the proshop really didn't seem interested in any solution either. Adding to the disappointment. Nice. Well appointed room but disappointing non golf experience.

Great resort!
