There was a mix-up with bookings and a room was not available for me. They suggested I take a seat while it was sorted out, but no-one kept me updated. I sat for some time and then needed to attend a meeting. I wasn't offered a complimentary drink or food, despite arriving at lunch time. I eventually checked in after the meeting at 8.30pm. As many people use their mobile phone alarms, it would be ideal to be able to plug your phone it by the bedside cabinet, but there was no allowance for this.

I was travelling with my brother to complete some family business. The Mercure was conventiently located, with a quiet room facing Albert Park. The staff promptly converted to room so we had separate beds as booked and organised parking for a vehicle too tall for the car park. Staff were very courteous and helpful. The room very clean and beds very comfortable. We woke refreshed and recharged to complete our tasks organised for the day.

Overall, the hotel location is very good and convenient, and the general service level was acceptable. The front desk staff were polite and helpful during check-in, which we appreciated. However, I would like to share some concerns regarding the stay itself. The hotel facilities feel quite dated, and most importantly, the soundproofing was extremely poor. I stayed on Level 3 on Saturday, 14 February, and from the afternoon of check-in through to the following day, there was constant noise from upstairs and neighbouring rooms. Conversations, footsteps, and general movement were clearly audible, making it very difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep. This stay was intended as a quiet weekend getaway with my wife, and we specifically chose Mercure Albert hoping to enjoy a peaceful and comfortable environment.
