The Team at Accor Hotels have been fantastic in the past and normally this review would be every star awarded. Unfortunately, my recent experience with Saran at the Pullman/Mercure Hotel was terrible. Saran overcharged me over $30 without providing a receipt and when I checked, he shrugged it off with no apology and made me feel uncomfortable for asking for a refund. We were provided with an upgraded room but the room was worse than what I’d initially booked. The carpets were filthy and nothing had been refilled. When I spoke to Saran about the room, he didn’t care and shut me down. When I asked for wine glasses, one of them was broken. Not much more to say really.

We had a really poor experience here. Paid over $320 for the night which was around the same price that Crown Towers were charging for the night. The room was awful. The carpet was torn and dirty, basic facilities such as aircon looked like from the 70s, tons of stains and marks all over the walls. We complained immediately after check in and were told that there were no other rooms available. In the morning upon checkout we mentioned it again and the receptionist said if we had told them the night before we could have got some compensation! Go figure. Then they said as a token of compensation they can refund us the $30 carpark charge. After leaving the hotel and driving away I got a call from them that they are unable to process the refund on my card and I need to come back. This is not a place you want to spend any money at, let alone a price that the nicest hotels in Melbourne are charging! @mercure if you ever see this you have my details and can reach out to make this right, but based on communication and organisation at the hotel I am not counting on anyone at Mercure even reading this.

I book here as close to tram but also good parking if needed. Good breakfast, decent rooms, appreciate the upgrade! And the AO chocolate surprise was superb thankyou! Particularly enjoy the pool & sauna. Staff interactions were good, breakfast, bar and particularly lady on reception.
