The staff we lovely, the general shared areas of the Mercure were great, very clean and spacious, the breakfast was wonderful. The rooms are a little outdated but we still had plenty of space and a very comfortable sleep

My wife choose this hotel so she could be close to her son. It was not at all what we expected. We choose to pay extra for a pemier room which was not at all worth it , not the view we expected 4th floor tower 2 could only see the pavilion opposite. Room was not cleaned everyday , found dirty toenails on the floor (yak) Very expensive buffet breakfast . We wont be staying at this hotel ever again

We have been staying with ALL Accor during our trips and staycations in Melbourne since 2024 and were really impressed during our stay in Sofitel Melbourne. As such, we decided to book Mercure Melbourne Albert Park for our wedding anniversary celebration, to experience staying out of the CBD region for once. During this stay, we were disappointed about inconsistency and service between Mercure and Pullman hotel sharing the similar premises. As such, I am writing to raise two concerns and would appreciate your assistance in investigating these matters. Firstly, regarding parking charges, I was advised during check-in that I needed to pay $38 for parking by your staff Harni (not too sure about the spelling). I checked in at approximately 2:50 PM on the 6th of June 2026 and parked my vehicle at around 3:00 PM. My understanding was that the parking would remain valid for 24 hours, which is similar to other hotels parking in Melbourne (such as Hilton Queen Street / Pan Pacific Melbourne). She also informed me that we will be able to enter and exit without any card, as our car plate number has been recorded and the boom gates will open automatically. However, when leaving the car park the following day at approximately 1:30 PM, the exit gate requested another payment. As we were unable to exit otherwise, we had no choice but to make a second payment by card. As a result, a total of $78.56 was charged for parking. Secondly, I would like clarification regarding your hotel's policy on complimentary drinking water. When we entered our hotel room, we noticed that there was no complimentary bottled water and were really puzzled about it. My partner assumed that this must be another environment or cost-cutting issues that Accor hotels have adopted in the recent months. However, when we exited our hotel room this morning, we noticed that the housekeeping trolley outside room 5101 in Tower 2 had many complimentary bottled water placed on the trolley and the housekeeper was placing 2 packets of complimentary bottled water in that room. When checking out, we asked a front desk staff member, Sarni whether guests were entitled to complimentary bottled water. He informed that Mercure hotels no longer provide complimentary bottled water due to environmental considerations. This left us confused about the actual hotel policy. If complimentary bottled water were not provided to guests, I completely understand and respect that policy. The housekeeper has clearly placed complimentary bottled water in other hotel rooms apart from ours, I would appreciate clarification as to why we were informed otherwise. This does not serve as good practice, and we will not be returning at all to Mercure Melbourne Albert Park. My concern is not the value of the water itself but rather receiving clear and accurate information from staff. A simple explanation or apology would have resolved the matter immediately. Lastly, there is no one handling calls for Mercure Albert Park. We called up numerous times , was on hold all the time before the phone automatically cuts off. Even when we called up the main Accor phone line, Nicole whom we spoke to was not successful in getting through to the hotel. All the above issues have actually marred our 10th year wedding anniversary, and we will not be considering any future bookings with Mercure Albert Park. Thank you for your time and attention. I was given what was referred to as an upgrade from a king size room in the Mecure to be downgraded to another room at the Pullman . The shower took a while to work. There were no blankets and I was cold even with the heater on. The coffee cups were very tiny in comparison with any other hotel I regularly stay at. I felt really disheartened the room I had paid for was not what I got. The receptionist was lovely and the staff serving at the bar were great I’m merely saying I felt deceived by claiming my room was an upgrade. It didn’t feel authentic at all .. that’s as honest as my review can be. Thanks
