I had booked the stay with my accor points and had to pay the remaining amount during check in. However, the card was charged in full during check in, which was refunded after the necessary deductions. I understand this might be a policy or a standard procedure. However, it was expected that the staff during check in, inform that card will be charged in full and later refunded. If i would have not checked, and raised it with reception, i am not sure if it would have been processed.

Very noisey from other Hotel guests banging doors and shouting. The one chair was very stained as was the carpet.

Windows weren’t clean and mould in drains in shower plus no fan in the shower so lots of steam in the bathroom. The bed wasn’t to bad but a lot of issues for the price and wasn’t very clean

We were disappointed with our buffet dining experiences on both mornings. My wife had informed the person who welcomed us to breakfast (different people over the two days) that she had gluten free needs. They indicated that they would bring Gluten free Weetbix and soy milk over to the table. We waited for fifteen minutes on the Saturday and I had to go and chase it up. The staff apologised, they had forgotten due to being busy. The same thing happened again on Sunday, even though I insisted I would wait at the front desk this time. No they said they would bring the weetbix and her soy milk but again they forgot. We could see that they were busy but it made for a disappointing breakfast experience. We had stayed the year before and felt like there were more staff able to cover the many people. It seemed that there were less staff this year and they lacked that attention to detail that is essential to good service.

I paid full price for my room, just under $300 per night, to have someone drilling cement at 7am, literally next to my room. When I opened the curtains there were multiple tradies at my window. While I was made aware of the construction, I was only made aware of this 7 days out from my booking when I had secured it in April for an August stay. While I appreciate the upgrade of the building, it seemed a hefty price while I was working 16hours a day and wanted to sleep for the small window I could, I could not. For $280 a night I would expect more privacy, and more options to avoid the amount of noise. As I said I understand upgrades and construction needs to happen in order to upgrade but to have someone drilling cement next to your room/ head at 7am was pretty steep. My only other complaint was there was no milk for coffee, even though I requested it twice

There was no air conditioning and system was blowing out hot air. Family didn’t sleep. We called someone to come and have a look at it and the maintenance man didn’t know how to fix it. Also on arrival, after specifying that we had two children, I had to call reception for a bed to be made up.

You need to update your website for Valet parking and add their is actually a height limit the same as the self parking.

We had such a fantastic stay at Novotel Geelong\. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome, and the whole experience was exactly what we hoped for from a weekend away\. The location is unbeatable — right on the Geelong waterfront, with beautiful views and so many great restaurants, bars and things to do just a short walk away\. It made it so easy to relax, explore and enjoy the weekend without having to worry about driving anywhere\. Our room was lovely, comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the hotel had everything we needed\. What really stood out, though, was the staff\. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, helpful and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great stay\. We’re always appreciative when a hotel goes that extra step to make guests feel special, and Novotel Geelong certainly did that for us\. We had a brilliant weekend and left feeling relaxed and very happy with our choice to stay here\. We’ll definitely be back — Novotel Geelong has certainly made a great impression on us\! Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my stay at Novotel Geelong and cannot recommend it. From the outset, the reception and check-in staff seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. The night before my stay, I received a text message and email advising that construction was underway for a second tower, supposedly to make future stays better. However, this was only disclosed the day before my arrival—long after the full room charge had been taken—and no reduced rate or compensation was offered for the disruption caused by the construction works. My room was not serviced or made up at all during my stay. The carpet also appeared extremely dirty, to the point that I did not feel comfortable walking on it in bare feet. To make matters worse, I accidentally left my laptop charger behind after attending a conference at the hotel. I emailed asking whether staff could check for it, but received no acknowledgement or response whatsoever. Between the poor service, lack of housekeeping, questionable cleanliness, late notice of construction and complete lack of response regarding my lost property, this was a very disappointing experience and certainly not what I expected from a Novotel.

The staff were great, and the room was great. We went to happy hour not realising the drinks were restricted. We missed the sign on the bar, so maybe the bartenders can mention it. And honestly? Just make it a real happy hour; the markup on drinks is enough to do so. The one major disappointment was the menu in the Dome. A few meters away, inside, your guests can order anything they like, and we had a set menu that is average at best. No choice of entree; basic choice of mains and no choice for dessert, which someone else may enjoy, but we had to leave, as it was like eating sugar- way too sweet. On the menu, there was one item I might choose from an à la carte menu. So, yes i would recommend it with the warning about the above, with a few tweeks there would be no need for any warnings.

Despite the work being carried out and some conferences on site, the room (5th floor) was quiet and had a beautiful view of Corio Bay. The amenities that were available were great and the bed very comfortable.
