I hadn't stayed at this particular hotel since 2009 and sad to say, it doesn't look like there's been much improvements since. Room 6506 had lots of carpet stains etc. No mini bar or bottled water in the room - a huge lost opportunity, especially for business travellers with no convenience store or cafes in the immediate area (when my team checked in, we noted the nearest one was a 8 min walk on a cold, rainy night). 1 hour+ wait for room service, bar stopped serving early (before 10.45pm), breakfast extremely average. The staff encountered were friendly and helpful however (reception, concierge, breakfast). Also cleaning every 2-3 days with towels and toileteries not being replenished was disappointing.

Rooms were not to 5 star standard, although I was lucky to have a view of Albert Park; otherwise dated, no daily room service, no minibar service, air conditioning was outdated dial operation that failed miserably, breakfast at restaurant was poor standard but bath robes were luxurious!

your hotel is in an area without late night amenities and yet anybody who arrives after 930 pm has no option s within the hotel or any guidance as to another option nearby for food and/or drink eg my 10 pm arrival on monday

I appreciate your problems with getting staff but the overall impression was need more training Eg stayed 5 nights understand rooms to be refreshed every 2 days . My third day, after 2 nights room not visited Asked staff about timing told My room not part of her schedule and if I wanted anything to go to reception ! So I made my own bed every day , no problem since I do it at home . But attitude poor ! Collected my clean towels when needed . Croissants at breakfast over 3 breakfasts stale . Tasted like what wasn’t eaten one day was recycled to the next ! Breakfasts otherwise OK Conference dinner my main course, fish, was cold and inedible , general feeling in the room about fish but everyone was there to have fun so tried to make do.staff maybe tried but not good enough really given your chain is generally very good . I am a member !
