Nice country retreat

The rooms were huge, large bathroom, close to everything , food outlets, petrol stations even the Big Marino. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the breakfast, I had the omlette, was terrible, I thnk it was cooked in the microwave. If I hadn't paid for breakfast included I would have just walked next door to Mcdonalds.

The furnishings and ambiance of the motel are excellent. Rooms are spacious and quite well-appointed. Staff were very courteous and helpful. The breakfasts were of an excellent quality. However, the mattresses were quite soft and neither of us had a restful sleep. A choice of rooms with firmer mattresses, especially for persons with back issues, would be helpful.

What a fabulous stay at the Mercure Goulburn. The location is great just off the highway near the big Merino Sheep and Trappers bakery. We had a wonderful welcome and complimentary upgrade to a spa room. The room was spacious and the bed was the highlight being one of the most comfortable of all the hotels we've stayed in. The quality of the food in the restaurant was outstanding and the prices very reasonable and fantastic value with the accor plus dining discount. Staff are warm and personable and we felt very much at home. Yvonne at the front was so welcoming and even provided a gift of lovely roses from her garden. Such a heartfelt touch!! The restaurant staff were also amazing and in particular the young man that served us each evening for dinner. His manner was impeccable. A great stay for a getaway or excellent place to stop if in transit. We will love to come back.

Staff very friendly and helpful Room was comfortable and immaculate Meal at Edge Restaurant was first class One negative - as an Accor Silver Status Member, I was entitled to a free welcome drink. This was not offered. Perhaps the staff didn't know about this and perhaps I should have enquired.

Can not fault the service from making booking very late in the evening until checking out very early in the morning. Mattress we had was a little soft, maybe time to upgrade these.

Upon arrival at about 1pm we were advised that there were no rooms available no early checkin. We were told if we had anything to do then reception would call as soon as our room was available. This did not happen at 16:30 we had to call to see if our room was available. Not what we have come to expect from Accor hotels very poor experience.
