Well located hotel. The room was spacious, and very close to the freeway for a quick overnight stay. The one bedroom apartment had a kitchenette, but one of the air conditioning units was very smelly so we were unable to use it, which may have been problematic if the weather was warmer if colder.

Not as enjoyable as previous stays. We love dining in the restaurant and with that closed something was missing. The spare blanket had holes in it - time to be replaced. Once again woken up by loud 4WD's left idling for to long in the early morning. This time it was from 6.30 am til 6.50am with music as well for the last 5 minutes. Perhaps a sign in the rooms asking guests to be considerate of others?

My family and I were back to Mercure Goulburn, a 4-star hotel in Goulburn, in December 2020. Our room is a 1-bedroom apartment with 1 queen and 3 single beds. The apartment is very spacious, probably around 70 sqm. The queen bed, dining table, sofa, kitchenette, and a TV are located in the main room, which is the space that we first entered when we accessed the unit. The kitchenette was well equipped with cooking and eating utensils. It also includes an oven, a cooktop, a fairly large fridge, and a microwave oven. This facility was indeed handy during our stay. The 3 single beds are placed in a separate room along with the wardrobe, a desk, and another TV. The bathroom is again large. It does not have a bathtub, but the shower is spacious. The bathroom is also equipped with double sinks, which is a rarity in a hotel. On the dining table, the hotel gave us some welcome gifts, including 2 bottles of water, slippers, and a small bottle of white wine (sauvignon blanc). The bottle of wine is a welcome surprise indeed. I must also add that the wi-fi was free, and it was fast and stable. The hotel is located about 4 or 5 km from the city centre, which is relatively far given that this is a regional town. The Big Merino, a giant 15-metre sheep statue, is only about 100 metres from the hotel. There are several fast-food outlets around the hotel, including McDonald’s, KFC, and Red Rooster. I also saw a kebab shop and an Indian restaurant next door. The most famous one is the Trappers Bakery, a bakery with 50 years of rich local history. It’s good to be back and experience another enjoyable stay in this hotel. We plan to come back here again in the near future.

the room was clean and comfortable and we did receive an upgrade. We were looking forward to relaxing after a long drive, dining in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. When we checked in we were advised the restaurant was closed for both dinner and breakfast. When I challenged the receptionist about none of this being on the web site I was advised it was a last minute decision due to 1st Jan. being a public holiday. On arrival at the room we found a notice to advise the restaurant had been closed since 24th December. We had to hunt around town to find a reasonable place to dine for both dinner and breakfast. Not the experience we expected from Accor Hotels and we were still charged full tariff even though the hotel couldn't provide the service it advertises.

I chose the Mercure as it was recommended by my sister and because it had a restaurant. So when I arrived and discovered that the restaurant was closed after a long drive I was very disappointed. New Years Eve and all. I had booked ahead to make sure I had somewhere to stay, so I did not have the option to stay elsewhere which I would have done. You would think a company like Mercure would be able to afford to pay staff on NYE, and to rub salt into it there was no breakfast either and I had to eat fast food rubbish over the road. Otherwise the room was nice except for the toilet paper which was unuseable. .
