I enquired a day before check in to confirm the reception hours because we were travelling from Airlie beach ., I was told 9 pm We did get there by 8.30 , but couldn’t get in as the front door won’t open . Couldn’t see anyone at the desk . Luckily someone was heading out the door thus I managed to get in . The attendant was in his office, after I called out he came out , I explained that I couldn’t get inside , he said you should use the key because the door is closed at 8 pm , I said I have yet to check in ! . No apology was granted and no further explanations were provided.

It was good, but surprised regarding paying $20 per night for car parking. Especially when I booked through trip.com their was no mention of a car park fee. Also, charging $8 for a large cappuccino at the restaurant is ridiculous.

Arrived and got assigned a car spot went to park and another car was in in our spot sweat should have taken 5 minutes turned in to a 20 min muck around then went to the room its was old and not looked after patched holes in the wall the furniture was damaged the bed was hard the room smelled bad lying of chemicals we had to open the door to air the room out just to be able to be in the room . Went to the desk and asked to be put in snother room as that one was not acceptable . Was told they were booked out and couldnt move us till the next day i was happy to pay to upgrade. . Spent the night in the room got up the next day went for a walk on the beach only had one door card with me when I got back I got into the elevator with others people and got stuck going up and then down the elevator as the card I had wasn't activated so back to the desk to get it fixed. . Got back to the room Went to have a shower and there was no hot water went back to the desk asked if we could be moved asap so we could have a hot shower . They did move us quickly after that and the upgraded room was nice but overall not a great stay.

On the evening of your arrival, we were booked out, which unfortunately meant we were unable to move you immediately despite your request and willingness to upgrade. However, we did ensure that a room move was arranged for the following day. I appreciate your patience in this situation. I also apologise for the additional issues you experienced with the key card access and the lack of hot water. While I’m pleased, we were able to relocate you to a more comfortable room afterwards, I understand that this does not make up for the earlier inconveniences. Your feedback has been shared with our team and will be followed up to ensure improvements are made.
