We stayed at the BreakFree Imperial Surf Surfers Paradise for 3 nights. The reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The beachside location was fantastic. The location is also very close to the main tourist attractions in the area (Cahill Ave, theme parks, beach). Our 2BR apartment was spacious throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Had a pretty rough stay this time. Asked for laundry liquid and some milk, but the staff told me to go to Coles and even said “hope you know where Coles is.” Not the kind of service you expect from a hotel. Room wasn’t cleaned — I followed up twice but didn’t get any proper response. Bit disappointing, because the previous staff were great and actually knew how to speak to guests and sort things out without any drama.

We really enjoyed our stay the apartment was very nice we stayed in 26D and the only thing I would suggest to maintenance staff would be to seal up the window in the kids bedroom the window was moving and banging in the high winds and the noise was a little bit annoying during the night this window is not designed to be opened so I think its an easy fix with some silicon to stop in rattling. A small Tv in the main bedroom would have also been nice but not a deal breaker we would definitely come and stay again.

I've been booking with Imperial for a number of years. 2 bedroom deluxe ocean view. I love seeing the ocean from the apartment. Units are very nice and renovated. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for me. Tram is just around the corner which is fantastic

We stayed there for the weekend while family was over from New Zealand. Unit was fantastic view, clean and tidy. We got to watch the whales in the ocean from the balcony.Only thing missing from the very well equipped kitchen was a jug to put cold water in the fridge.

Third stay at Imperial Surf. Wonderful apartment, shame the outdoor pool no longer seems to be heated. Would really appreciate being able to book specific apartments, even if you tier the booking system if you want to ensure a front apartment without hinterland views. Maybe it could be tired in price brackets, hinterland view, then guaranteed full ocean view and then penthouse. We also experienced problems with late check in, the intercom between the double set of front doors cycled through message to say was busy then cut off, took about 40 mins to finally get a response and this was at the intercom on the barrier. At the end of a long day of travelling, this was very stressful.

This is the 5th occasion we have stayed at Imperial Surf. We love the location, the amazing views from our great apartment and it is always a pleasure to connect our booking with Paris and the staff who are always so pleasant and welcoming. The apartment we really love is 19 B and appreciate being allocated to it where possible. It feels like a home away from home. Looking forward to next time on the beautiful Gold Coast.

We had a great stay at Breakfree and are glad we upgraded to a renovated room when booking. It had everything we needed for our holiday for the most part, small touches like salt and pepper would help make utilising the kitchen a bit easier but we understand why it’s tricky to include those. The location was handy to supermarkets, restaurants, the beach and the parking included in our booking was so helpful. The pool and spa were great as well. Our tv broke during our stay and the repair person came quickly, we ended up using one of the other tvs in place of that one. A few small things to note - the renovated rooms aren’t very soundproof, I could hear our family from in the hall which could’ve been frustrating for others on the same floor? A few small things need to be checked - the light in one bedroom didn’t work and the lamp in the other one didn’t work. The doors regularly need treatment for squeakiness and you could tell the renovations were done affordably but was still nice to feel like it was ‘new’.

Staff were very friendly the building itself was well maintained sadly the apartment though it had a spectacular view it was very dated, ie balcony doors when closed had a Gap that allows the wind to whistle in and the main bathroom was full of drafts, however it looks like steps are being taken to improve the process.

Had problems with the door, unable to get into the apartment maintenance came to let me in. Also the TV couldn't receive some free to air channels. As a silver Accor member I should receive a welcome drink. Reception said Breakfree don't do that, even though Accor offers it, a little annoyed with that
