Quiet, clean and comfy rooms opposite tram and train station makes this hotel a preferred option for us as we ‘transit’ through Bordeaux from Australia to the Dordogne. Perfect for a one night stay, but because of the trams opposite that whisk you to the centre in minutes, also good for longer stays.

It was an easy walk across the street to the F-tram to the airport. Clean and nicely laid out rooms; mine had a small balcony that opened up to the square below. Sound proof windows made sleeping comfortable! Friendly service at the front desk and willing to speak English to assist me.

The weekend reception was amazingly helpful. She spoke English extremely well, which was helpful to me as an American. My French is rusty after years of not interacting with French speakers.

Dear Madam, Thank you for your kind words regarding our weekend reception staff. We take great pride in providing exceptional service, and it is wonderful to hear that our team's language skills helped enhance your experience. We strive to make our guests feel comfortable, regardless of their language background. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will be shared with our team. Best regards, Angèle - Cheffe de Brigade - Mercure Bordeaux Centre Gare Atlantic

I booked this stay directly through the ALL app because I usually choose Accor hotels and expect a certain standard of service. The hotel is very well located, just a short walk from Bordeaux Saint-Jean station, which is very convenient for a short stay in the city. However, the experience was mixed and overall disappointing. When I arrived, the first room I was given looked nothing like the one shown in the photos. I had specifically chosen this category because the layout seemed comfortable, with a pleasant elevated area by the bay window, including a sofa and a table to work or relax. Instead, I was given a room with a very awkward and enclosed lower space that felt cramped and almost claustrophobic. It was completely different from what had been advertised. I had to go back to reception and insist on changing rooms, even saying I was ready to leave. To be fair, the receptionist was kind, and once the manager stepped in, they found the correct room quite quickly. Still, this should not have happened in the first place. What also disappointed me is that, as a loyal Accor customer booking directly through their platform, I did not feel valued at all. The loyalty benefits felt minimal and impersonal. One welcome drink is not enough to make guests feel appreciated, especially when the overall service does not match the expectations of a four-star hotel. The room itself was also lacking in amenities. There was no minibar, even in a superior room, which gives a strong impression that cost-cutting is a bigger priority than guest comfort. More generally, this hotel does not deliver what I would expect from a four-star property. Another major issue was housekeeping. The morning after my arrival, I discovered there was no soap in the shower. I was genuinely shocked that the room had been given to a guest without such a basic check being done. Reception sent someone immediately, which I appreciated, but the staff member entered the bathroom and even the shower area with his shoes on while the floor was wet, leaving dirty marks behind. He apologized, but did not clean anything afterwards. That was extremely unpleasant. Service at the front desk was also inconsistent. Some staff members were polite, but others seemed cold, irritated, and not welcoming at all, with no smile, no proper greeting, and no sense of hospitality. The front desk setup itself, in the middle of the lobby with a very minimal and cheap-looking arrangement, also does not help create the impression of a proper four-star hotel. In the end, the location is excellent, and some staff members were helpful, but the room allocation issue, missing basic amenities, poor attention to detail, and inconsistent service made this a disappointing stay. For the price paid, and for a hotel claiming four stars, I expected much better.
