I've stayed at the Sebel Margate a couple of times and I thoroughly enjoy it. Restaurant downstairs, small gym, roof top pool, central to great walks, food, coffee and shops. As soon as you walk into the room you feel calm and relaxed. The staff are helpful and friendly and it's not too big. Highly recommend.

Room and bathroom were cleaned satisfactorily but it was very odd that the top of the bathroom sink tap wasn't wiped clean in the 4 days we stayed there. Very strange!!

Being a gold member I believed that if there was an available upgrade, it would be offered. There WAS an available upgrade room, it was NOT offered and I paid considerably more to get it. I had stayed at this hotel several times recently to visit my terminally ill sister in Brisbane. This was the first time my husband had visited the hotel with me and I wanted to show him the experience I had felt being in the ocean view rooms stayed in each time. The check in was late in the afternoon and I would like to know why the upgrade to ocean view- for my membership entitlements was withheld and I paid 30% more than original reservation quote. I don't understand the membership terms!.

You cannot reserve parking. It is first come first served on the day. My daughter had to park a long distance away and check in with the bags.

All was well, staff room and experience. until I noticed the very dirty moldy air vents in small dining /coffee area. Otherwise very clean, just forgot to look up.
