Excellent facilities, but service was abysmal. Meal took over 2 hours to arrive on 2 occasions out of 4. No seats or coffee at breakfast. 20 mins to get a beer in the bar.

Genuinely, this is one of the most beautiful resorts I’ve ever stayed in. The setting is stunning, the facilities are excellent, and the rooms are beautifully done—everything you would expect from a luxury property. Our children absolutely loved the kids' club, which was rare! Unfortunately, the experience was significantly let down by poor service and below-average food. The hotel was operating at full capacity during the school holidays, which is understandable—but it was clear there were not nearly enough staff to support the number of guests. On multiple occasions, our orders didn’t arrive. Our children’s meals were served after the adults had already finished, items were missing, and dishes were often overcooked. There were also frequent issues with basic organisation—tables were unavailable, and service felt consistently disjointed and slow. Most disappointing, however, was the lack of engagement from management. Despite several attempts to raise concerns and speak with a manager, it became clear that there was little interest in addressing the issues or engaging with guests. In summary, while the property itself is exceptional, the service and dining experience fall well below the standard expected of a hotel of this calibre. A real shame, as it has the potential to be truly outstanding.

They say 'first impressions last' and that is true of the Fairmont. We were greeted by a driver at the airport who showed us to his car - no bottled water offered and no cold towels. The entrance and drive up to the hotel is very impressive, beautiful and well kept grounds. Despite only one family at the hotel reception, it still took almost 25 minutes for our check in to be completed, also note no welcome drink offered! Then, after check in, there was a considerable delay to find a member of staff to show us to our room. Not a great start! Breakfast .... disaster! Twenty minutes for a cup of coffee and pot of hot water. Lengthy queues at the egg station and staff that don't take ownership for anything other than 'their' job, example ... there were no bowls at the fruit station, we asked a lady who was replenishing fruit for some bowls, she pointed in the direction of the coffee station, we went there and asked for fruit bowls, they pointed us back to the fruit station, the same lady at the fruit directed us back to the coffee station -eventually someone wearing a blazer stepped in and fetched bowls. This lack of service was obvious throughout our stay, mostly in the bar which is such a beautiful space but sadly, service was incredibly slow - almost an hour for a couple of portions of gyozas. There is no doubt that the Fairmont is a stunning property but is sadly let down by a very obvious lack of staff training - definitely not worth its 5 star rating.

Fantastic property; extremely welcoming staff; wonderful stay. Thank you so much - my family and I had an amazing time. We loved the villa which was well-proportioned, very comfortable and with plenty of storage space. The gym and fitness area were very well-equipped and the communal pool deck was great. Everyone really enjoyed that space. We'd also like to give a shout out to the team at Al Ain restaurant - amazing food and very attentive service. Thank you.
