Great hotel, but where has your Super Barber Sufiyan gone?

Me and my friend come to Marrakech regularly (once or twice every year) for both business and leisure, and stay at the Novotel in Hivernage. The hotel location is very good and situated amongst the best restaurants and bars Marrakech has to offer. The staff at the Novotel are also great and accommodating. One thing we were very disappointed and saddened by.... Novotel used to have an in-house barber called Sufiyan, who absolutely added to the overall experience here at the hotel. He is probably the best barber (and also the nicest person) we have come across... ever. And believe me, a lot of my friends are barbers, and I've visited more than my fair share. We have even recommended him to some of our friends in London, Paris and Marseille who visited him even if they didn't stay at the hotel. One of them ended up changing his booking from the Villas in Palmeraie to Novotel just so he could get a trim by Sufiyan on a daily basis!! I don't understand why he left or why Novotel have let him go, but it definitely isn't the same anymore... and anyone who has had their haircut done by Sufiyan, will tell you the same thing and I'll bet my next trip to Marrakech on it. What a shame..... I have to give Novotel only 4 stars out of 5. Bring him back Novotel, some of my male friends are saying to me that they're not staying there anymore. When it comes to looks, the hair and beard 'trim' is probably the most important thing for a man, understand this!!

Average hotel. Rooms and all areas were clean. Unfortunately the customer service let it down. No one seemed to be happy in their work. The bar staff were rude, restaurant very unorganised - you had to keep asking for things and dirty plates never cleared, reception not very accommodating. First room we were given we walked in and it hadn’t even been cleaned from last guests! Breakfast average.

I had to stay in the Novotel Hivernage during an unexpected visit to Marrakech to help out with y brother's work. My stay was made even better due to the very attentive, kind and supportive actions of all the staff from the Reception team to the breakfast team and the housekeeping team.
