The hotel is just a 1–2 minute walk from Tunjungan Plaza, one of the largest shopping malls in Surabaya, making it incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, and exploring the city. If you want to feel the world famous Raffless Hotel Singapore in Surabaya version then Majapahit Hotel is right place. Like the Raffles, this hotel was also constructed by the Sarkies Brothers in 1910. For my two-night-stay at this hotel, everything is perfect. As Accor Platinum member my room was upgraded to Heritage suite. The timeless Art Deco architecture, historic atmosphere, exceptional hotel staff, lush central gardens, unbeatable location at busiest Tunjungan street and across from Tunjungan Plaza, create an unforgettable stay. What I liked most were the public spaces of the hotel is very well maintain and the historic feel. Especially in the evening, the colonnades and buildings of the Majapahit are beautifully illuminated. During your stay, you should try Majapahit Hotel Heritage Tour, the staff will guide you, explain the hotel history and entering to some room which have the historical memory such Merdeka room 33, Charlie Chaplin room 47. I have very nice experience also with the hotel staffs, that is when my wife left her valuables in the safe deposit box in the room and only realized it 3 days after we checked out from Majapahit, when we contacted the Majapahit hotel again they still kept them in good condition and said that we could pick it up anytime. Best of all are the absolutely stunning grounds of the Majapahit Hotel, which are a quiet oasis right in the heart of Surabaya. All things combined I can absolutely recommend the Majapahit Hotel and it is almost a must-stay hotel when visiting Surabaya.
