From start to finish, our stay at this hotel was simply amazing! We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and always eager to fulfill every guest’s wishes. Our room was not only stylish and modern but also spotlessly clean. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the view was breathtaking. The little details – from the high-quality amenities to the thoughtful welcome gestures – made our stay even more special. The breakfast buffet was an absolute highlight: a huge selection of fresh, high-quality dishes, from savory to sweet, all beautifully presented. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was equally delightful – excellent cuisine, a great wine selection, and a wonderful ambiance. The first thing that hit me was the massive construction site that is opposite the entrance, whilst I’m use to the work going on in Dubai this was very close. We were forced to upgrade our room as the hotel gave us the room facing the front and looking directly at a working construction site that meant you were not able to take advantage of the balcony which we often use to have coffee in the morning and evening drinks whilst getting ready for dinner or evening activities. This upgrade we had to pay for and I believe that it should have been offered as a courtesy free of charge. The upgraded room looked out onto the beach and pool which we enjoyed. The beach and facilities were good the beach being cleaned (raked) daily and the adult pool a warm body temperature plus the kids pool had two slides and a toy area that my grandson enjoyed. In addition the hotel sectioned off an area of the sea with floats that was regularly used by customers but was colder but not uncomfortable. The hotel provided a choice of food at the buffet which was acceptable there was always something that we liked. The hotel is close to other hotels such as the Sofitel and the Atlantis where we also ate as there were more restaurants to use but obviously we paid for. As the Retreat is part of the Sofitel I enquired as to whether we could access the facilities at the Sofitel but were told we couldn’t which was a shame. The Retreat was popular as it was fully booked, and the staff were pleasant the hotel is good for all generations old, young and families. There was a relaxed atmosphere and we didn’t have an unpleasant stay. As it was Ramadam the traffic was very busy during Iftar a journey that normally took 20 mins would take well over an hour during this time we often had difficulty getting a taxi to take us back to the hotel so often used an Uber service. However this didn’t affect the pleasant stay we experienced it was just something to note or be prepared for in the future.
