My stay at the hotel was a birthday gift from my husband. I have not been away from him and our 4 children in a long time and much as I needed time to relax and unwind, I was nervous about whether I would have permission to do so. Your staff's friendliness and attentiveness to my needs gave me the permission I needed to just soak in all the luxury, from the large room to the delicious meals, to the decadent spa and the clean beach and pool ... it was all magical. I loved it so much, we are planning to return as a family in November :)

Absolutely atrocious!! The hotel was beautiful, and the hospitality by some was great. However, due to my unforeseen circumstances, and my early check out I have been treated with the worst customer service experienced in all my years. After I checked out on the 4th of April, I was informed I would receive my refund 12-14 days later. However, I checked out over a month ago, and have not received my refund yet. The only reason I am receiving my refund now “hopefully” is due to my constant calling to the reservation team. Whoever monitors these two emails: HA… and HA… deserves to be fired and needs to be trained on how to properly engage with customers through email. This experience has completely put a sour taste in my mouth with this company and hotel. Just the utter lack of respect for people’s time and money has been very upsetting. Additionally whoever owns this number: +971 50… is extremely unprofessional as I received this number from someone on the reservation team and after messaging this number on WhatsApp to inquire about the refund I was blocked. I have pictures to prove, along with emails showing no response for weeks.

It's an ok hotel, but honestly - for a Sofitel, I expected more. The location is far and you have to take a taxi if you want to have anything to eat. The hotel has only one restaurant. Breakfast was just ok, rooms had issues with maintenance and they were -again- just ok. On Friday the room next to us (which its' balcony was supper close to ours, and was empty the rest of our stay) had guests. These guest were partying and we could hear all of it. Not to mention we request a non-smoker room/floor and these guys were smoking on the balcony, the smell got into our room!! I will say the staff is very nice and attentive, the Spa was good. The massage was perfect and the facial was also good. Again, though - the decor of the spa could have been more inviting and lux.

It is great hotel to stay however need some improvement with regards to customer satisfaction. We reached a little late in the hotel, yet the connecting room we requested (door took time to unlocked). We can’t sleep well as the noise can be heard inside the room. Especially the construction metal noise. We requested for late check for arleast till 1pm but no luck. Food selection in the restaurant was not that much.

Ideal location with a nice see view. Everything is one step away from the bedroom: swimming pool, beach, two restaurants, car park. We chose a half board stay and were very happy about it as the buffet offers a wide and tasty choice and the service is so friendly (so is it in general in the hotel) Overall such z relaxing and harmonious stay. On the down side, count 15 mn by car just to leave the Palm, we considered it as the price for more tranquility. The esthetic of the hotel and it's surroundings, when reached from the main road, was not that appealing. You may not impress your family and friends on this aspect, but the reward comes just after you step in.

Long check-in, still waiting for my points

I am an Accor platinum member. Called the hotel to check if I could use one of my suite upgrades and they said it had to be done at check-in and I had to book a more expensive room to get it (full sea view). I arrived and I was told my reservation was not in the system as the system was down. Once found, he said no suites were available, which was “surprising” considering that they were still available for booking on their website. I was then sent to speak to the manager, which took another 20 min wait. After check-in was done, I was given the keys to the room 1h+ after check-in time (which was supposed to be 3pm). The room was nice and spacious, with a beautiful view. All the staff was really great. The property has a private beach and a good restaurant onsite (doesn’t serve alcohol). The day after, we got a late checkout at 2pm but could stay at the beach longer. All in all, I give it only 3 points because, despite the staff and properly were 5, the check-in and the delay in getting the Accor points are a huge bummer.

We had a great time staying at The Retreat Palm Dubai, mainly because of the incredible staff, specially Mr. Ajmair from reception and ladies from Club Lounge. Very good breakfast buffet with everything you could want. Very good pool and also the beach which was directly adjacent to the pool area. We would stay there again , we will recommend this hotel
