We spent 1 week in family, Such a great experience. Staff is always taking care of you, making sure you have all what you need, from breakfast to Dinner. We had the driver Akhtar, always explaining you what you have around when driving, has stories to tell. He made our trip easy, when texting him, always come to pick you up or find a colleague, we were so happy with our 1 year old boy to have him. Same with Asif, as a top concierge, he took really care of us, arranged visits, advised where to go, when to go. A real tailor made service. The only minor was the buffet, not bad, complete, but like any other buffet. The Chef was so good, always ready to cook the small extra, so you quickly forget. In conclusion, for sure our hotel for our next trip in Dubai

The Retreat was the final leg of our Dubai trip. We specifically chose this hotel so we can relax and enjoy the amenities it offers, including the spa. Our stay was generally pleasant until we checked out. There was just one guest at the reception who was being attended to by a hotel receptionist. There was another receptionist, named Saad, whom we approached. Our bill was already settled beforehand and all we needed to request from the reception was to have our PCR test printed out. My wife approached Saad and requested him if he can print out our PCR tests. Saad simply handed a piece of paper to my wife with an email address printed on it and then told my wife, “email here.” My wife didn’t understand what he meant. Saad took his attention to something else while waiting for us to respond. Then my wife asked him politely, “What do you want us to do exactly with this email address?” To which Saad rudely responded, “Did you email us your PCR test? You have to email it before we can print it!” When I heard Saad talking that way to my wife, I was already a bit agitated. While we were sending the email, a lady came from our back and rudely cut the line and requested Saad for a taxi to which Saad promptly responded and left the reception without even telling us that he will be gone and get back to us later. When he came back, we told him that the email had already been sent. Without saying a word he went to his PC and took some papers from the printer and handed the papers to us. He didn’t talk to us at all, “NOT A SINGLE WORD!” I thanked Saad, but to my surprise he was just staring at his computer screen and did not bother responding. Then I loudly told him “YOU’RE WELCOME!” That was the time that my wife asked him if she can make a comment, to which Saad responded, “yes Ma’am?” My wife was giving him advice that he has to be courteous and approachable since he is in the hospitality business. I myself, did not let it pass and told him with a loud voice that “you were not courteous at all when attending to us! We had a marvelous and relaxing time in the hotel and you just ruined everything!” We had to leave at that moment since had a flight to catch. That kind of behavior must not be tolerated and must be strongly addressed by management. We were appalled with the way Saad treated us. He was RUDE and very unprofessional!!!

Booked for a Saturday night. Which by accident booked a booking i apparently was not allowed to move day. So couldn't enjoy the hotel as i wanted Friday night not Saturday night. Hotel gave no room to move which accepted but didn't feel like they would even try. Stayed one night, lights didn't turn off in living room, thankfully we could close the bedroom door. The curtains were so stiff we couldn't open them. The hotel looked so old it was like a 80s Hawaii theme. Nothing like the standard of other Mgallery. Will not go back.

Our room had been upgraded to a junior suite which was really nice, we were very happy with the room and enjoyed our holiday. The hotel has great amenities as well including a very nice beach and pool.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

When i arrived for Check in - hasd to wait more than 1 hr for the room, that also got the room after asking for it 3 times after waiting a total of 1 hr and 20 minutes. at checkout my partner forget her wallet in the room, by mistake. we checked in that day at Novotel Suites - Mall of EMirates for 12 nights. we went for shopping to Dubai Mall and Mall of Emirates and many shops - i was paying. 2 days later my partner realised that her wallet was missing. we went to all the shops where we went shopping, we went, waited in line at the security office of the Dubai Mall and the Mall of Emirates looking for the wallet. which was nowhere found, i did not call the Retreat to ask as it is there duty of care that if anything is found in the room - the guest should automatically receive an email or phone call about this....... My partner insisted that i call the Retreat and ask once, so i did, i was told they they will check and call me back. i got a call after 15 mins and to my surprise they found the wallet with all the ID's, the drivers licenses and Bank Cards if my partner - BUT DID NOT CARE TO INFORM ME ABOUT THIS. after going to 20+ shops and 2 security offices of shopping malls and going through so much stress and hassle - the wallet was at the hotel - HAD THE HOTEL DONE THEIR JOB PROPERLY AND DROPPED AN EMAIL, ALL THIS STRESS AND HASSLE WOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED. When i went to collect the wallet, i arked the security incharge that why was i not informed or sent an email that by mistake the wallet was left behind and has been found - you had all my contact details?? The Security incharge told me that we found it on the day of checkout 29th of Nov and that very moment they informed the front office to contact the guest and let the guest know of this. But to front office and the hotel management did not bother to do so......

The hotel was nice but not the size and quality I have come to expect when staying in Dubai and paying the prices that this hotel charges. The check in time couldn't be brought forward which was disappointing especially as I had requested in advance, I've never had this at any other hotel in Dubai. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean but again smaller than I expected.

Everything was great, neat rooms with all the facilities. It was almost an amazing stay, except for two things when I was checking in it took so long and the the receptionist (Egyptian) didnt gave us the room although there were available rooms on the higher floors and when I was checking out I was accused of damaging an (Iron) I refused the accusation, yet was told that they do daily checkups and its me who damaged it. I didn't wanted to make a big fuss so I was willing to pay for it due to the unsettling arguments with them; however, the supervisor came and handled things better and told me it's Okay no need to do so and apologized for the inconvenience.

Ease of reaching and using the sea and swimming pool was perfect. Staff super friendly and helpful. Spa had high quality and excellent experience. Breakfast was quite acceptable, but there was chances to elevate to a higher level of customer satisfaction, I mean variety of meal choices could be more.

Long check-in, still waiting for my points

I am an Accor platinum member. Called the hotel to check if I could use one of my suite upgrades and they said it had to be done at check-in and I had to book a more expensive room to get it (full sea view). I arrived and I was told my reservation was not in the system as the system was down. Once found, he said no suites were available, which was “surprising” considering that they were still available for booking on their website. I was then sent to speak to the manager, which took another 20 min wait. After check-in was done, I was given the keys to the room 1h+ after check-in time (which was supposed to be 3pm). The room was nice and spacious, with a beautiful view. All the staff was really great. The property has a private beach and a good restaurant onsite (doesn’t serve alcohol). The day after, we got a late checkout at 2pm but could stay at the beach longer. All in all, I give it only 3 points because, despite the staff and properly were 5, the check-in and the delay in getting the Accor points are a huge bummer.

We had a great time staying at The Retreat Palm Dubai, mainly because of the incredible staff, specially Mr. Ajmair from reception and ladies from Club Lounge. Very good breakfast buffet with everything you could want. Very good pool and also the beach which was directly adjacent to the pool area. We would stay there again , we will recommend this hotel
